Not sure how many of you have ever stepped foot into Nisswa School but our three children have stayed the course — well almost!
Mac is in his last year at this cool, little school and it’s been fun! Great teachers that seem to love their jobs and just an overall “happy” place to be and visit!
I thought we should do something special since this is Mac’s last year and he will be our last child to pass through those doors. So, what was the plan? A fishing trip, and Thursday was the day.
Mrs. Ziegler’s and Mrs. Bieganek’s fourth-grade classes met us on the west side of Gull Lake around noon and we fished until a little after 2 p.m.
The day was great — nice weather, a few fish, a few misses and some Sno Bear rides. I would like to say thank you to all the parents and teachers who helped and an extra special thank you to Nick Miltimore (one of our guides) for helping too. We set about 25 tip-ups and had some set lines scattered throughout the area too. The girls caught the fish, which is pretty typical and I would say that overall it was a good day! And I don’t think anyone fell in a hole. We will just have to see how things go, but maybe this was a start of a Nisswa School tradition.
Tomorrow, it’s the Pillager Outdoor Recreation class that gets their chance to miss a little school and try to hook a fish or two. Math or fishing? Duh.
