It sure is nice that the days are getting longer and we are actually seeing some sun.
The fish are starting to get into their spring patterns on some lakes, others are still holding out.
Red Lake is still putting out some fish for people that are willing to move around. Mille Lacs and Leech lakes are starting to put out some nice perch. Mission, Sylvan and Blackhoof lakes continue to put out crappies.
We’ve had some luck on Gull Lake for walleyes in 14-20 feet on shiners. With a lot of people taking their houses off last week before the storm there isn’t much pressure now. Round Lake has started to put out some nice crappies in 30-35 feet.
The second annual “Ernies take a kid ice fishing Day” was a great success, a lot of fish were caught and there were alot of smiles on the ice. Hope to see everyone next year.
