One good fishing experience can keep them coming back for years — and years.
Bruce Meinz, one of our guides, was out with a customer earlier this summer who hadn’t been to the lakes area, but had been to other places in our beautiful state to fish.
This particular customer was so impressed with his experience — compared to his past fishing experience — that I would guess this will be their new destination.
A quality fishing trip means a whole heck of a lot. And it means a lot to our area. They fish, they eat, they shop, they go to movies, they drink, they rent boats, they golf, they spend money and, of course, they sleep a bit.
Not all of my fishing trips have been fairytale trips, but a good fishing experience can sure lead people right back to our area year after year.
We have had a good season, and now that the walleyes are starting to be a little more interested in our minnows, things are going to get really fun. Jingles the fish is out there to be had and we are going after her this fall. I will keep you posted.
Also, Tim Hankse, another Walleyedan guide, put one of his customers on a 40-inch northern this week. It came out of Wilson Bay on Gull Lake, and I hear the smile from the elderly gal was awesome.
