For years there had been sightings of the big deer.

• CO Nikki Shoutz (Pine River) TIP calls handled included: hunting over bait (corn), trespass, untagged deer and possession of firearms before the deer opener. Enforcement action included: loaded/uncased rifle on ATV, no blaze orange, illegal posting of public land/trespass and fail to validate big game site tag.

Maybe we are on an every-other-month pattern as far as mild temperatures. September was beautiful, October was ugly and November has been nice. I guess I will look forward to January.

Large sucker minnows are producing muskies during the day on Lake Miltona and Lobster Lake. Minnows also have been the ticket for walleyes on Miltona in 30 to 50 feet. Deer registrations are comparable to last season, but there seems to be more bucks being harvested. Duck-hunting and pheasant-hunting reports have been limited.
