Remember the rules
May in Minnesota is an incredible time and people are brushing the rust off their bicycles, ready to ride. Bicycling is becoming more recognized as a simple solution for transportation challenges, in addition to health and obesity issues. May is also National Bike Month. Whether you are riding a fixie, around town, or touring the state, before you start grinding those pedals, please remember of the rules of the road for bicycles. According to Minnesota Statute, cyclists “ must ride on the right with traffic ... and have all rights and duties of any other vehicle driver.” (M.S. Section 169.222.)
Bullying will never go away
You might as well get used to it. It goes on at school and college, continues in the work place. As you get older, it happens in the senior communities and churches and even when you volunteer, of all places. It makes some people feel superior putting others down. It goes on through life. The older they get, the more accomplished they get. Bullying.
Wants Vox Pop back in print
I would like to have the Vox Pop come back and be in the paper. For a newspaper, you should be showing both sides of the coin, the liberal side and conservative side. It seems like lately you’ve been showing a lot of the conservative views.
Good riddance
I’m just calling to say ‘good riddance’ that the city administrator has finally announced his retirement. That snake oil salesman has run Brainerd into the ground for the past 23 years and if you do any research on city administrators their tenure is about 8-10 years. His was 23? Good riddance.

I agree, I see it in the school I work in and I saw what happened to my son when he went to work for an agency that you would think would be against this type of thing. It is everywhere and getting worse.

Even seen it
Even seen it in nursing homes. Whispering behind their hand, not letting the new person sit at "their" table. Wondering what "she" did for a living before she got old, how much money...

The only way to stop it is to start with ourselves, at some point we are all guilty of some sort of bullying, some just carry it a little further. We are responsible for our actions so we need to always set a good example for those who are watching us.
