Responsible pet owner
Hats off to Ms. LaVay Hodgson (picture in March 21 paper) for carrying a dog clean-up bag while she and Bailey walked the Paul Bunyan Trail. Unfortunately, too many others who use the trail don’t own a bag or know what they are used for.
Right to work
Yes, we are forced to join the union. Fair share is not an option when the difference is $5 a month. Full dues for a year are $660. Fair Share dues are $600 a year and you are treated terribly by the union when you go Fair share. Give us the option to “opt out” of the union completely.
Unions
To all who won’t pay or join a union wait until you get in trouble you didn’t create and the boss says you’re done working. You’ll have absolutely no protection to save your job. You aren’t using your head. The unions worked very hard to protect your jobs. Got you decent wages, decent working conditions and many more benefits. Your boss can’t lay you off. The amount you pay to belong to a union is probably one Saturday night out on the town. I am 90 years old and a union member for 50 years plus with protection.
Elderly are not pets
Please, people, do not pat our elders on their heads. It is condescending and we don’t like it. We are not pets.

How refreshing to turn to the Commentary page and not see Dana Milbank and Kathleen Parker with their liberal, Democrat biased drivel. Women and freedom
Republicans keep saying they are against regulations and want freedom. My question is when are they going to stop regulating women and give them their freedom?

You're probably right...
In my career, I also paid fair share a few years ... it was 85 percent of the total dues ... then again, my salary, my work conditions, my schedule, my on the job training ... sounds like about 85 percent of the worth to me .... It would be quite unfair to receive all that and do NOTHING in return, don't you think?
