Lowest of lows

I am an employee of a retail store in the Brainerd/Baxter area and I would like to wish the person/persons who stole the baby Jesus from our nativity scene a Merry Christmas. I hope your child/grandchild enjoys playing with such a sacred doll.  You should be very proud of yourself. I feel you have stooped to the lowest of low. The only thing I can think of that is lower is whale poop. You can really be proud of yourself when that present is found under the tree!

Sunday’s dog story

The dog story in Sunday’s Dispatch should remind pet owners to be responsible and care for their dogs properly.

State hospital grounds

It is a crime to see all those well-structured buildings being torn down. The buildings should be used for nice senior citizen apartments instead. When taxpayers pay for large money projects such as the state hospital, the taxpayers should have the right to vote how the state hospital buildings and grounds are used, not governmental officials. My guess is a land developer wants the grounds to build large apartments to make money.

What a raise!

Some people have been pretty upset that those of us on Social Security got a raise in January. My raise was a whopping $24. What they don’t understand is that when Social Security increases, so did my rent. That went up $75 so I’m $50 in the hole. Wow. That was some raise.

What a raise

Just think...some people got a 0% raise. Others got maybe a 1% or 2% raise. I bet their bills went up too. At least you didn't go in the hole as much as they did.

Isn't it insane how people can get so upset at others if they get a little bit of anything?

or better yet OkeyDokey

People like me and my fellow 13 co-workers either had to take a pay cut to keep everyone employed or have one of the 13 get let go.

So my 7.7% paycut with my health insurance going up, home insurance increase and up in taxes because of the homestead thing and the teachers needing a raise...I mean the the students needing money now I am really in the hole.

Side with the democrats then!

If you would let the democrats tax the ultra rich people and corporations then they wouldn't have to get all that tax money from you! Duh!

or if the US House

passed the payroll cut, there would be more in your pocket each payday. Call your congressman/woman and ask why they voted against it. Like Chip and Bachmann, oh, she was in Iowa and didn't vote.

"The only thing I can think

"The only thing I can think of that is lower is whale poop."

"Whales actually poop almost liquid fecal matter, which appears like a dispersed cloud or plume at the surface" according to aquaviews.net. As it turns out, whale poop starts out closest to the heavens as any substance, fecal or not, can get in the ocean.

Whale Poop

According to aquaviews.net, "whales actually poop almost liquid fecal matter, which appears like a dispersed cloud or plume at the surface" that doesn't sink deep into the bowels of the ocean like one might think. In fact, whale poop is one of the few substanes in the ocean, fecal or not, that is closest to the heavens at all times.

Sure, stealing baby Jesus was wrong, but it's hard to take anyone serious when whale poop is used as a comparison for human worth. Dog poop on the other hand...

Be glad you even have social security

Those pulling in social security know bears as much if not the majority of blame for the situation the fund is in, so be careful about complaining too much!

Young kids today won't have anything like what you are enjoying right now. And remember this--YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK COMES FROM THEM--not you. What you contributed in social security taxes was gone long ago.

I've been paying

in to social security for about 10 years now, with no high hopes of ever seeing a penny. Its pretty sad, I'm glad to help those who worked hard and earned it. However, it frustrates me to think I may never see a penny of the money I have worked so hard for.
