Oceans’ temperatures are rising, coral reefs are dying and glaciers are melting at a breathtaking pace...but one cool spring in Brainerd convinces climate change “denialists” that global warming is MIA. Conservative talk radio ranters may disagree, but real scientists are unanimous that climate change is real and is a real danger to our grandchildren’s future. Come on, folks, let’s use that amazing American spirit to fix this and let’s start now!
Keeping our reputation as a tourist trap
As I drove by the area gas stations on Friday which was the start of the weekend after Easter which is traditionally the cabin-opening weekend of the tourist season, I see the gas stations raised their price by 15 cents per gallon. How sad. I guess we must keep our reputation as a tourist trap. But remember, your friends and neighbors are trying to survive here also.
Willow is a race track
I’m calling in regard to the person who said that Willow Street was a race track. I’ve said this many, many times. I wouldn’t hold your breath on them doing anything. It took me two years in order to get speed limit signs put up. So hopefully maybe if enough people complain we might get something done about the speeding, I agree.

And besides the oil companies have told us that it isn't happening. We should trust them and repeat the talking points they've given us.
one cool spring?
I remember 2 years ago, I was ice fishing til April 21st.
Last spring did have an early ice off, but do you remember the tempertures?
Every year since I moved here, I have been driving my truck on ice someplace by Christmas, oops I mean holidays, lol.
The world has been changing since the earth formed billions of years ago.
The world has changed because of human, yes. I would be an idiot not to thing so, but it also changed from every animal on this planet.
If I do recall, huge piles of coral died when Wisconsin was once under the sea. Same thing with Wyoming. Lots of limestone there.
The earth is her own entity. She will change how she changes, and no matter what we do, she is going to change.
We are all idiots if we think we can make her stop changing.
Do you all know how many years the average is on ice ages?
Do you know that there once was not any polar ice caps?
So you suppose the earth cycles back and forth form polar ice to no polar ice?
Tourist Trap?
What a stupid statement! Look around buddy, gas is going up everywhere, not just in Brainerd; and I am sure it is not against those "tourists" and there cabin-opening weekend.

It happens every weekend in the summer in brainerd. I am sure a the owners meet someplace to figure out how much to jack the prices. I say it's time for an investigation into price gouging.
