Judging by our mail bag, electronic and otherwise, interest in the Brained School District’s Nov. 8 levy referendum is picking up. Voters will decide whether to renew the current operating levy and whether to increase the operating levy by $200 per pupil.
In order to keep any inadvertent, last-minute inaccuracies from being published in the newspaper the Brainerd Dispatch will print its last guest columns or letters to the editor on the school levy topic on Nov. 3.
Open Forum writers are reminded that the length of any letters urging residents to vote yes or no on the Brainerd or Pine River-Backus school levies will be restricted to 50 words or less. Lengthier letters on education issues will be considered if they steer clear of references to the referendums or advising people on how to vote on the issues.
We encourage all Brainerd School District residents to vote on the referendum. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at various locations throughout the district.
