Rolf Westgard’s guest opinion is filled with dazzling statistics: 18 percent; 39,000 tons; 87,000 ounces; 1,000 pages; 720 million dollars; 25 years; 6,000 acres; etc. None, however, support in any way his opinion that Minnesota has the technical expertise, political will and financial commitment to “regulate” large-scale sulfide mining in this water-rich and valuable environment.
