Apparently, a member of the city council has a problem with the public voicing their opinion regarding issues relating to city hall. Perhaps Mr. Borkenhagen should read the First Amendment of the Constitution. Just as Mr.
A town hall meeting recently took place in the metro area to discuss whether the state should end its ban on Sunday liquor sales.
I endorse the free market, yet my position has nothing - nada, zilch, zippo - to do with liquor itself.
City is not over-staffed
Over the last six years, The city of Brainerd has reduced the number of employees from 137 to 116 (a decrease of l5.33 percent). Services don't seem to have suffered much, but in a few departments, overtime has risen.
Obama’s job czar, Jeff Immelt of General Electric, shows his true colors by moving GE’s 115-year-old X-Ray Division to Beijing, China, from Waukesha, Wis. In addition, Immelt says GE will invest $20 billion into the China economy.
Way to go Barry, that’s sure a good job czar!
Bode was a true hero
I was informed this past week that our nation, our community, and I personally, lost a great man. Don Bode passed this last week. He was a true hero, patriot and friend. He served in the Marine Corps starting as an enlisted man.
Our broken country
The law of gravity has been in effect from the beginning. I can say I don't believe the law and will prove it by flying off my garage roof. The law does not break; I do. The evidence is there in my broken body.
Twerking is the future
Though I read the Brainerd Daily Dispatch on the daily and I enjoy all the wonderful content, I can say I will no longer be reading newspapers. I will from this point on be practicing on my twerk skills.
