The solution to ending the current government shutdown is motivating those that answer directly to us to solve the impasse. We placed the responsibility for guiding the ship of state in the hands of Sens. Klobuchar 202-224-3244 and Franken 202-224-5641 and Rep. Nolan 202-225-6211.
I suggest everyone urge them to stop the nonsense and along with the president resolve this mess right now. Regardless of how you or I voted individually, we collectively sent those three officials to D.C. to work for us. The buck stops with the people we elected that directly represent us and especially our president.
President Obama and our elected officials from Minnesota must stop abusing veterans and service member families. This past weekend five service members were killed in Afghanistan. The president, our commander-in-chief so far has stood by and allowed the Department of Defense to withhold these families death benefit. The death benefit is normally wired to the service member’s family within 36 hours of the loss to help cover funeral costs and other immediate expenses that result from the loss of the families’ bread winner.
It’s not just our service members and veterans that are being abused by our elected officials. Regular citizens that just need a minor federal service to get something done in their lives are stymied by federal offices closed down by the people we elected and sent to D.C. to run the government.
It’s not a proud day for this president, Sen. Klobuchar, Sen. Franken or Rep. Nolan. It is time to end the name calling, whining, grand standing and finger pointing. I have called all three and politely asked them to buckle down and solve this impasse, have you?
