Because it’s been a while since I’ve written, I would first like to congratulate Rebecca Yeh on how well she did in getting to and representing us as Miss Minnesota at the Miss America Pageant. Rebecca, you are a fine and very elegant young lady and the 2013 pageant was blessed to have you there. God bless you as you’ve blessed us and your future. He’s not done with you yet. Amen. Thanks Rebecca. You placed higher than the Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves combined.
To go from the Miss America Pageant to the Pope is quite a transition. I have to agree with Pope Francis’ statement about how the church, all denominations, must love more and condemn less. In John 3:17, “For God did not send his son (Jesus) into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Pope Francis said, “Who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?” The key word is seeks.
If marriage were a brain, I would be the left side and my wife the logical right side. When I first heard the Pope’s full statement, I thought he was condoning abortion and homosexuality but my wife said, no, he’s saying for the church to reach out more to those in these situations as Jesus did, since we are his church. Jesus never left a sinner sinning. In John 8:11, Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery, “Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin.” We can also but not on our own, only through Jesus the savior. Ask a Christian friend, co-worker or relative or pastor or call 888-633-3446 (NEED HIM) to see how it’s done. We’ll be glad to tell you where not to go.
God sure has his paint brush out in those trees. I hope the rain didn’t take them all. God bless and enjoy his handy work. Amen.
