The Dispatch seems very biased in its reporting and fails to keep the public informed. They failed to report on the open forum portion of the Brainerd City Council meeting.
They also recently on about Aug. 2 failed to report on the presentation in Little Falls by Brigitte Gabriel on Muslim extremism.
It seems that political correctness was in play for they had reported the opposition to her presentation by CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations). This is extreme bias and must be corrected immediately.
The Little Falls Record had a wonderful article on her presentation in their paper soon after the presentation. Why are we being kept in the dark by the Dispatch?
At the last city council meeting I addressed the council reference the cost of operating the fire department and the ongoing negotiations with the units of government who purchase service from the city of Brainerd, many of whom are searching for cheaper options. The loss of these participants would cause our fire protection to be decreased and our costs to rise we must share to benefit all.
Why is the city not attempting to cut costs in an effort of good faith to make the protection offered more affordable to the participants? Staff could be reduced at no loss in protection. The city must negotiate in good faith and not continue to offer their service from a dictorial position.
The Dispatch was provided a copy of my notes and recommendations. The Dispatch must report everything and not hide behind sick excuses.
