Sometimes you wonder what drives politicians, and let’s face it, some voters, to align themselves so tightly with one party or the other that some of their actions fly in the face of common sense. It’s when you can find no redeeming value in anything your opponent says or does and yes, I use the word opponent, because even though the election is over they still see them as an adversary. We wonder why we have gridlock in Congress. There’s a point when you’re no longer a lawmaker but just an obstructionist.
It’s gone to the point where the media also has drawn their lines in the sand two and they represent, not the truth in what they report, but what they want you to hear. It’s no secret that the two biggest news players on national television are 180 degrees opposed in their views of Congress and the president. Is that wrong? Not really, it’s their network, and they have their first amendment rights too but is it fair reporting — no again and they share in the culpability of what is wrong with Congress.
If things were going good in this country who would care if they got anything done or not or for that matter even show up for work. But things are not good and we elected them to be our country’s caretakers when it comes to government matters. Instead they are the caretakers for the lobbyists who fund their campaigns and who then give them a job when they get voted out of office.
