I want to thank the Park and Rec Dept. and Tony Sailer for allowing me to umpire the younger kids. Our kids in Brainerd/Baxter are just as good. They just don’t play 50-70 games a year.
And to the Brainerd City Council on Aug. 5 for giving me a nice plaque and Park and Rec also.
But the people I want to thank the most are Brainerd/Baxter parents for letting me “adopt” your kids for the summer. They are the best kids. I have the most fun with “my” kids in Brainerd/Baxter. I love them all.
You parents are so nice to me and your kids are the best. I missed my kids being gone for two weeks. My kids have such great jokes and stories. They make me laugh so good.
Going to Cooperstown was awesome. It was a surprise to me. I work the games and just try to have more fun than the kids. Still trying.
One thing when I was there with Chanhassen, they told me they are going every year and I get to be their umpire.
I am just a small city umpire. I love my kids and did miss them and being their umpire but thanks again to all the kids and parents through my career and Tony Sailer, boss and friend for 14 years, thanks Chief!
