Legislative Survey

Posted: February 18, 2013 - 6:57pm

Legislative Survey Available

The 2013 legislative session is now underway and Minnesota still faces a number of challenges — first and foremost, closing a $1.1 billion budget deficit. As in past years, I need your input on a variety of topics to help me make the best decisions for our community and Minnesota’s future.

You can find my survey online by visiting my House website at http://www.house.mn/10A <http://www.house.mn/10A> and then click on “2013 Legislative Survey” or by visiting http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7B9CD89 <http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7B9CD89>. If you would like a paper copy to fill out, please contact my office at 651-296-4333 or email me at rep.john.ward@house.mn <mailto:rep.john.ward@house.mn> and we would be happy to send you one.

Please continue to contact me with your questions, concerns, and suggestions for legislation. As always, I look forward to hearing from you.

Rep. John Ward

Baxter

District 10A

Nice Work John Ward !

Beware of some ideas and concerns you may get from local cranks and the infamous local " Brain Trust".

Most of them DO NOT represent the majority of folks that offer legitimate ideas for real problems.

cap

I'm in Ward's district so, I actually did fill out the survey.
It seems to be put together by democrats, of course, who else would put it together.
I claim to represent no one but myself in this survey.
They have you list the priorities from 1 to 9 on the questions.

Cap, you can relax as the survey doesn't give much of a chance to offer legimate ideas and concerns.

What I'd like to know is what or whom is the "local brain trust"?

The survey says "what do you consider to be the top priorities" and list the 9 items they consider, that is what we get to choose from - their ideas of what is important.
That is ok with me.

Wheres U B O , We have only heard from 2 members

Of the local Brain Trust .

So named some time ago , by a very wise fan of the Brainerd Dispatch.

Sad Lady I would suggest you NOT put the following 7 on your top 9 list.

Voter Suppression/Voter ID , Shoot First Leg. , Ignorant Rants about Gay Marriage ,Union Busting , Planned Parenthood evils , the waste known as PBS , More Acctg tricks to balance the budget ( that worked well)

State has already been there , done those.
What could possibly be left on your list ?
Gun Control ?
And Please , Dont use your new word " obstructionism."

Hey Cappy

If little johnny wants a survey, tell him to use the red thumbs on this article. He will then see the truth and it will be a reliable survey. Anything that's not a secret ballot (this survey for example) is subject to tampering by Ward so his little survey is a mute point. You want a survey, send out a secret survey to be opened by a private accounting firm. Cost to much money you say. So does an elevator to a concession stand at the civic center. Hey Johnny, just check the red thumbs. You may want to take lil cappy off your list of puppets after checking todays thumbs.

cap-read then react

You obviously didn't read my post as I said they (the survey) give us ( the voters) their list of 9 options to put in order of importance of 1-9.

I've never used the obstructionism so, I think you have me confused with someone else.

I repeat I didn't get to choose the 9 options, they chose 9 options and I was to put them in order. Please pay attention.

I think by your disjointed comments that you just couldn't be a member of any brain trust.

Oh Sad One...

Perhaps you should feel free to read the survey you took.

The last option on all of those questions was a blank labeled "other" that allowed you to put any concern you had that they didn't mention.

But that doesn't fit with what you are trying to peddle here, right?

Aside from the ability to add your own idea to the "other" category, Question two was:

2. Minnesota is facing a projected $1.1 billion structural budget deficit this biennium. How should the legislature close the deficit? (Select 1)

All budget cuts

All revenue increases

A mix of cuts and revenue increases

Engage in more borrowing/shifts

Not sure/need more information

This was followed by a question asking how we should promote business in this state, which included things like cutting taxes for businesses and corporations.

Seems like a pretty fair and reasonable survey to me. Feel free to give it a try yourselves.

Hey Snacky Baby

It's not how fair the survey is. It's how fairly it is tallied and whether he abides by the REAL results. As a test of the accuracy of this survey, I just opened the survey using a psuedo name and address and was granted unfettered access to the survey. I did feel like I was buying something at Best Buy however as you couldn't get into the survey (make a purchase) without giving your life history so that little johnny could get you in his data base (like best buy) and send you all kinds of junk political mail/advertisements.

Okay Johnny

On the same page that you get when opening the survey, there is another option to click on to see the bills that little johnny has chief authored in this legislative session. One of those bills worth noting is "House File 0171: K-12 teachers requirement repealed for teachers to pass a basic skills examination in reading, writing and mathematics as a condition for receiving a teaching license." Little johnny wants to eliminate that requirement. That's all we need, our teachers being dumbed down more than they already are. And you elected this fool. It's quite obvious he doesn't plan on running again. Look for more of this stupid legislation from him as he really doesn't give a hoot anymore about his constituents. Nobody will be voting for him again anyway.

Something Strategically Missing

Take the survey and see if you can figure out what's missing in the seven questions he asks. Clue: It should be the first question. Now we see where your priorities are johnny.

Snack

I said in my first comment that the survey "doesn't give you much of a chance to offer ideas".
I did fill in the open spaces when there was a chance.
Furthermore, that is probably the only way that they
can do a survey and I know that.

I said and I will repeat "I did take the survey" so, I know the questions and the options for answers and the space provided for my own choices.
You take up your whole comment section commenting
on items that I already knew and when someone takes the survey that they will know.

I also said that the survey was ok with me.
JeezzzzzzzzzI'm not peddling anything, I just took the survey and explained my experience.

Hey Snacky Baby

Nope, my dog is protected by the second amendment. You're probably to stupid to figure it out but if you don't like what's on this web site, turn it off. That would be covered under the first amendment, freedom of speech. Now if your big nose won't allow you to miss out on some gossip, that's another story. Does Ward pay you out of his campaign finance money to defend him. No one in their right mind would defend him for free. It really bothers you to have someone else know something before you do, doesn't it. Do you belong to an old hens club or a nosey rosey club or an old codgers club or do you just naturally have nose, mouth and brain problems, or if it's a birth defect, let me know and I will be more respectful of you. Have a good evening in your asylum.

So if we have a BILLION dollar deficit, how much does this

survey cost the state? And, since almost no politician has ever really listened to their constituents, what good does this do? I see it as another example of (back)Ward fawning over anything that will get his name in the paper. In other words, he's an a(deleted word)kisser!!!

One thing about having a billion dollar

deficit is that it's only one 6 thousandth of the extra debt that Obama has bestowed us with. Look on the bright side for once. Ooops, next year the AHC goes fully into effect...............

Mav, about that bunker..............I'll bring my own tin foil with my assets....................
