in God we trust?

Posted: February 14, 2013 - 8:22pm

Before I start, I would like to tell the origin of the song, “It is Well with my Soul.” The words were written in 1873 by Horatio G. Spafford on a ship near the spot in the Atlantic Ocean where he four daughters drowned after their ship collided with another ship and sank in just 12 minutes, his wife survived. Angry at first with God, he thought God didn’t know what it was like to lose a child, then Horatio remembered Romans 8:32a, “He spared not his own son (Jesus)...” with that the words were written. That’s how it is when you’re a follower of Christ, we know we’re just passing through. This Earth is not our final home. However, as we pass through, we are to represent and live to do as Jesus would and did when he was here on Earth.

That said, we feel bad when we see evil prevail, as what’s happening in this country and called “A Shining City on a Hill,” to be looked up to as a Godly example of how to live. America, with Obama/Roberts Care’s intrusive infringement of our individual privacy and rights. After 2014 will be nothing more than any other socialist country. Imagining America’s freedoms being lost, rather with the guises of health care or gun control or homosexual rights or killing babies in women’s rights.

If I were a political cartoonist, I would draw Jesus’ face with tape across his mouth, behind him the Constitution with a line across the First Amendment and a pen in hand resting on the Second Amendment ready to put a line across it.

Pray, fast, beseech God for this nation. In the end it’s heaven, not D.C., to put our trust.

God help America. Amen.

Stephen L. Heinecke

God's back in fashion?

"Pray, fast, beseech God for this nation" And don't ever vote for an angry Muslim Jihadist again just because he claims to be black or non-white or afro-American or what ever.

Why doesn't Stephen speak as jesus would?

I was with Stephen until he spoke of living like Jesus did during his time on earth--and then immediately dove in to attack the health care reforms.

Stephen apparently thinks that all gods children shouldn't have access to health care. That an insurance company should have the power of god--to deny life saving treatment to those who need it, resulting in death.

The irony is that we are NOT moving to universal healthcare--the system where we all pay in to a common health care delivery system.

Congress would not agree to that, so they went away from the more liberal direction to one promoted by conservatives--and Governor Mitt Romney.

We will be able to buy the insurance policy we choose. And through the limits of that policy, see the doctors we want to see. We won't have a company cut off our coverage anymore if we get a terminal illness. Our children won't be forced go without coverage that they can't afford now--and can't be covered under ours.

As soon as the new healthcare law was passed--because it is politically convenient to do so--republicans somehow are making the outlandish claim that it is a highly liberalized system, falsely claiming it is some type of government healthcare rather than the private system it will continue to be.

It is far from perfect, but the Jesus I know would want the coming system over what we had any day of the week.

It will not force people to have insurance, though there will be strong incentives to do so. It will make insurance much more available to everyone, and increase care for those who were not covered--and died or lived in poverty solely as a result of their health problem--before.

Not sure what god Stephen is worshiping, but it is not the christian god I know!

Dear RINO....Have you read

Dear RINO....Have you read the whole Obamacare law? Can you point out where you get all YOUR information? You seem so all-knowing and certain thatYOU are right. I would like to learn just where I could get these ideas. Is it impartial information or is it just a liberal interpertation? When I read and hear that it will cost the average American family $20,000 a year, you show me where this is wrong please. Oh and by the way, I don't know if you worship God or not but I can assure you that Stephen IS one good Christian and just because you don't agree with what he says is NO reason to try to degrade him and label him. You should be ashamed of your self.

Apparently you and I don't have the capacity to "know"
what Jesus would or would not think. We could never say that the Jesus we know would prefer the coming system to the previous system. That takes some kind of special powers that we don't possess.

We can't even suggest that it is highly liberalized as what really do we know? Wow, that is some arrogance, isn't it?

Who's fooling whom?

I'm tired of being told that Obamacare will lower the cost of my health insurance when I pay a higher cost every two weeks and that my taxes are less when they have increased.

Healthcare or Heath Insurance

Wait a second...I'm confused...Is Obamacare about healthcare or mandating all American citizens will purchase health insurance? If so, how will the government monitor that all American citizens purchase health insurance? If it is about healthcare...What improvements to healthcare will this program provide? Will it speed up a cure for cancer, blindness or mental illness? On the religious side...will Obamacare forbid prayer chains or last rights?

There appears to be some confusion as to what it entails...maybe it should have been read before being passed?

It's about health insurance.

AND, the people that pay nothing right now, because they live off of the taxpayers, will pay nothing after Obama Care is totally in effect. It will force healthy people to pay draconian premiums to finance the coverage for the lazy so that the government can pretend to have balanced the budget. It will make health care non-existant for millions of people that pay for it. Bernie Madoff had nothing on the Obama Cartel and want's to appeal his sentence!
I can hardly wait for the resident lefters to start begging for food, when the economy collapses.

Healthcare of Biblical times.

What type of healthcare did the Christians have to protect them from the Romans? Was it no health insurance...stapled to a cross. Health insurance...fed to the lions?
