No more gun control

No more gun control

As a former sheriff and current state senator, I was sworn to uphold the Constitution of the State of Minnesota and the United States. I take this oath seriously. Unfortunately, it is apparent that some do not.

I have noticed Freedom of Speech, under the 1st Amendment, continually protected while our 2nd Amendment is constantly under attack. While I may not agree with all aspects of protection under the 1st Amendment, it is what makes America great. The 2nd amendment should be as equally protected in its entirety.

My sincerest sympathy goes out to all families & friends involved in the recent shootings in our country, but the shooter, not the gun, is the problem. The fact is that less people are killed with guns now, than in the past.

The two greatest mass murders in our country were not committed with guns. One was a domestic terrorist who killed 28 children and 140 adults with a homemade bomb. The second was by foreign terrorists who used airplanes to murder over 3,000 of our citizens.

Therefore, I stand with law abiding citizens, sheriffs and chiefs who will uphold the constitution and not allow our own government to infringe on citizens’ right to keep and bear arms. I will also assist in passing legislation that will truly deal with the safety of our children without assaulting our 2nd amendment rights.

Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen

Alexandria, MN

Representing Douglas and Otter Tail Counties

Depending on Senator Bill

It's very comforting to know that Bill is ready to grab his musket and be ready to repel the latest indian or UN attack. There is nothing like a trained militia to protect us.

Rolf - At least Mr.

Rolf - At least Mr. Ingebrigtsen understands the issue. Unlike your DFL buddies in the state capital who can't even discharge their duties to which they were elected. Apparently, members of the DFL firmly believe that ignorance is, indeed bliss. I wonder what would be the outcome if any of us walked away from our jobs?

DFL Leaders at their finest....I guess this is their way of becoming informed.

My ex buddies in St Paul

I was excommunicated, remember?
I suggest that one problem with the "for every bad guy with a gun, we need a good guy with a gun" motto is that we assume the good guy is Clint Eastwood or my son-in-law(USAF pistol champ) at Dover AFB.
Instead you are more likely to get somebody like me who couldn't hit the proverbial barn side.

I'll add to that

Who ARE the good guys with the guns? Cops? Teachers? Priests?

Can you take any of those job titles and say that they are all good across the board? I think not.
