We would like to help, but we just can’t afford it. First, we must cut spending even more on those things people want and often think they need to survive. People survived without those things before the 20th Century and perhaps it is time you learned how to again.
We also need to teach society a lesson by cutting back on those promises we made about Medicare and Social Security and that the working part of society dutifully paid into for their entire working lives. Even though these programs work and would be solvent if we had not borrowed the money and spent it, people need to understand that you can’t trust government promises, unlike corporate promises, and that everything, including your very survival will be determined by the free market as Jesus in the Bible told you.
It is time you all learned the hard lessons of life.
We have taken most of the money out of the society and are keeping it safe from your unknowledgeable hands, merely to help you learn the lessons we learned… you must learn to make do with what you have or find a way to competitively take things from someone else. Oh, no, not from us. We are not in this game. We only set the rules and referee, rewarding those we like and punishing those we don’t.
Of course we could help you out, but letting you have access to the money you helped earn would be a bad example. First you must show you can survive and thrive with nothing, and then we will begin to teach you how to be like us.
We really can’t afford to do more. It is for your own good. True Americanism is, after all, Darwinian capitalism.
