Victims of Congress

Posted: January 9, 2013 - 7:32pm

Well, we have seen a group in Congress demonstrate that they cannot lead, will not follow, and they won’t even get out of the way, for years that has been the rule lead, follow or get out of the way. They are aided by a personal rule in the House, the speaker. He will not bring up a measure unless his party has enough votes to pass it on its own, that way no non-partisan legislation gets passed.

It is important to keep down the accomplishments, of an opposition president, when he is in office, even if it is what your party has been campaigning for, it would go down as happening on the other parties watch.

I feel for Speaker Boehner. I assume the reason that he pulled the hurricane relief bill is because more Democrats than Republicans would have voted to support it and he couldn’t have that, so the victims of Sandy are now the victims of the Congress.

Dear Jesse

What? Not a single word on horehouse Harry Reid and
his total lack of a budget and any ideas on fixing anything or cutting spending?

You lose any creds by not mentioning the Senate as well as the House. What has Harry done while in charge of the Senate?

Answer is nothing.

Sadie, Sadie, Sadie

Every year the White House submits a proposed budget to both houses of congress.
It isn't just the Senate's responsibility.

Here is the proposed budget, once again, online, as it has been, for all to see, every year.

Nice name calling of the Senate Majority Leader, even if you spelled it wrong, phonetically it is obvious of your lack of even a modicum of respect for him. But you have that right.

Southie

No one voted for obamas proposed when it was actually brought to a vote I believe the vote was 0-414 or something in the house

True

Congress is supposed to change what they don't like and pass that, and send it to the Senate to reconcile, but they took the easy way out. No back and forth bargaining for them.

That is why they have the title, the worst Congress in History.

Yolfing at the moon

I am just saying that when you put the presidents own proposals up for vote no one wants to be connected to voting with Obama that's all, it's a fact is it not?

This dictator

is threatening to do it by executive order. Another Constitutional violation. One of many. impeachment is in order.

details, details

"Sessions and Mulvaney put up bills that looked a little like Obama's budget, but without any of the details."

Like the fiberglass maiden said, "You;ll have to pass the bill so you can find out what;'s in it."

Senator Harry Reid

It's time to bring in the new "Father of the Year" to straighten
everyone out or put them in the corner.

For Pete's sake, I spelled Harry Reid's nickname wrong on purpose. I stay with my original review of his leader job.
Which apparently has some of you in a bunch.

No really?

Of coarse I'm aware of that! Doesn't change the fact that the bill they came up with to resemble the things the president called for was completely defeated! Like Steve said, I'm surprised anyone even knows what is in those bills considering how much they like to pass bills without reading them!

You guys sure have crushes

on Nancy Pelosi. I can just see Steve hoping she gets her speaker job back in two years, so he can get some more memorable quotes from her to take him into his old age.

Here's my plan to get Congress to act promptly...

...if no budget is passed by the deadline, income taxes automatically fall to zero. That ought to light a fire under them.

I agree

Muehlbau! Also add in that no NEW laws can be legislated until budget is passed!

On April 15, when taxes are

On April 15, when taxes are due, the feds will have an idea
how much revenue will be coming in. Then, do the budget with those numbers and no borrowing.

There are more pages in the tax code than in the Bible.
Yet, no move by Harry Reid in the Senate to do a flat tax or at least, revise and cut the tax laws.

Sadie.?.Which Bible.?.

Many variations, if all the pages added up together, MIGHT be more than the current tax code...
That can change pretty fast, or slow, depending on our Congress Folks...
