More gun control

More gun control

Obama, although he wants it, is smart enough not to come out for outright gun control.

Instead, “we will look at many different options, including gun control.” Well, just how well does gun control work?

In Chicago, Obama’s hometown, we find one of the most restrictive gun control set of laws in the country. Yet last weekend, just one or two days after the Connecticut school shootings, Chicago recorded nine murders.

Sure seems like tougher gun control laws is the answer.

Well, Art, you tell us the solution,

What response is appropriate?
What would be effective?

Please tell us.

Don't just use this forum to repeat your goofy emails that you get.

Has crime involving handguns decreased in Chicago?

Didn't the law get overturned by the courts?

A smart [filtered]

remark from you is expected but not a solution either, twilight.
Art spoke a true fact. If you don't like that too bad.

Well, FNB

Do you have a solution or just bad mouthing as usual?

One solution is to have the NRA pay for security guards at all schools.

School shooters are generally not previously convicted felons, so they are allowed guns. What to do?

Mental healthy history is confidential so sick people are allowed guns. What to do?

Second Amendment allows arms to do your civic duty to protect our country.
Maybe the Supreme Court needs to hear some cases from parents who have lost children.

"As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

How about a round table discussion at CLC?

The NRA already

helps through education, southie. Maybe you president should soent 2 billion here instead of where he's spending it now to protect foreign citizens. Don't even bring Bush into that as BHO promised to have us out of there in a year. Hmmmm, Gitmo, no taxes on less than $250K and on and on and on...............
The current laws already covered this murderer and no matter what you communists say it's impossible to vaporize all guns.
Go right ahead and disarm yourself but don't try to disarm everyone.
Put a Gun Free Zone sign in you front yard if you are so brave about it. I bet you don't.

Art Becker & UBO - You 2 seek Gun Violence solution as a couple

If your skeptical of the all options program of reregistering all guns in America , and kicking down the doors of those not willing to comply by using able bodies like veterans and those retired (after only 20 years) law enforcement officers to back up the helicopter gunships .

Well then maybe you would agree with the great republicon problem/resolution devised by that highly ineffective speaker of the US house , from Boehnerville OH ?

" Lets just all start over with a clean sheet of paper"

That is reduce/revise " those ineffective 20,000 laws on the books" , we keep hearing about, and start changing/ overturn any of them more than 50 years old so the laws keep up with
all the improvements/changes that have evolved with weapons/guns over time, or at least since WWII .( Think Technology)
I know that word "evolve " is pretty scary for both of you who would most likely think " creationism " is the solution .

Assault gun sales are soaring!

Who says the economy isn't improving? All those who have been scared by the NRA's fear mongering tactics are buying out the gun shops.

Art, did you and FNB order yours?

We should spread a rumor that books are going to be banned!
Get yours quickly before they are burned!

Lil'cappy,

I am done responding to a goffy pothead like you.
southie, I didn't order one and don't have one and actually never owned one. Now that that's out of the way, I do have enough weapons to protect my family and I and have training and licensure to carry them and your assult on my right to do so is getting to be a worrisome bunch of baloney.
As I said before, If you want to trust the police to protect you go right ahead. If you want a pothead to park his jeep in front of your house to protect you, go ahead. Put a sign in your yard proclaiming to all that you don't allow guns on your property if you are brave enough. Police response time to most of this area is at least 20+ minutes and if the LF guy could shoot two criminals with a .223 and nobody but him heard it then I sure hope for you that you have an alarm system to alert the cops that some pothead just shot you for your prescription dope.
Much later than 24 hours and you will stink a bit.

Fear not,

I have plenty of guns and a veteran here to protect us. Did you never imagine that some gun owners could have opinions which differ from other gun owners?

A Merry Christmas to you! And to you Captron!

Everybody wants to do something

Everyone wants to do something to stop senseless killings. The main reason I'm against all the gun control blather going on in the media and coming out of the mouths of our VERY CONCERNED policitians is simple-- it just won't work. Why waste all this time, effort, money etc on something that just won't make any difference. We all want to do something and we want it to be simple. The gun control crowd's answer IS very simple-- outlaw "assault" weapons and big clips and we'll all be OK. We can say we DID something. We can feel GOOD about ourselves. I understand the feeling. When I watch the families of these kids that were killed, I feel horrible and I want to do SOMETHING. But---
These bans won't do anything to solve the problem, because the answer isn't simple. It has to include changes to our mental health system, privacy laws, security changes, etc. Why not put our money and efforts behind finding real answers that will make a real difference rather that focusing on a simple feel-good ban that will do nothing.

I never imagined

that another patriotic gun owner would let their opinion disarm other legal gun owners. Your difference of opinion and your veteran's must stop at the 2nd Amendment or it is a treasonous opinion and no veteran has that right either. I happen to work with Gulf War vets and they say the liberal line on this is treason and what you(southie) advocate is treason also. Any trooper that takes the oath MUST uphold the Constitution even if his wife is a liberal Lefter!
