City's listening

City’s listening

Most all of us who live here know this is a unique and special place on the planet. But like anything, it can always be better. The community conversation begins here!

As a newly elected city official, and as promised, I’m listening. We (the city) are listening. Join us.

Tell us what has not worked in the past? What isn’t working now? What would be better? What if...?

Come to our first meeting and express your hopes, concerns, and most importantly, your ideas about how to build a better Brainerd.

Lots of folks really care about making changes to our city. So this is really all about networking. For more info, you can tune in to Facebook: “Building a Better Brainerd” where you can post your best photos, and share even more of your ideas of creative community building.

Meet with me on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m., in the senior center meeting room. Bring your bag-supper and/or beverage if you like, and just a few of your great ideas about building the city that we truly want to live and work in. It will be the first of monthly gatherings to discuss where we go from here. Business people (or prospective ones), residents of Brainerd, Baxter — we’re all in this together. If you have any stake in Brainerd, here’s your opportunity to make your voice heard, and have fun in the process.

There are a number of cool concepts being germinated around town. Already there are lots of great ideas. For every good idea, we need to also have the plans and solutions that we will discover together. This is our opportunity to gather — unofficially, in a friendly atmosphere, and have enjoyable conversation about taking the city of Brainerd to the next level. We really hope to see you there.
