A senior opinion
Hi, this is the gray-haired brigade again.
The election is over now, so your flu symptoms should go away, (commonly called “election fever”). Now that all the negative ads are over, here’s how you should have voted. It’s simple, just vote everybody out. Eventually, we should have a perfect Congress, about the same year that the Vikings win the Super Bowl. Lol.
I see they now call the open forums, reader opinion. Well here’s mine.
America has become the land of the special interest and home of the double standard.
If we lie to Congress, it’s a felony, but if Congress lies to us, it’s politics.
If we dislike a black person, we’re racists, but if a black person dislikes us, it’s their first amendment right.
You can have pornography on TV or the internet but you better not put a nativity scene in a public place.
We have trouble closing our border with Mexico, but have no problem protecting the 38th parallel in Korea.
We take money from those who work hard for it, give it to those who won’t work. What used to be the land of opportunity, is now the land of hand-outs.
I say, “bring back the draft.” All those gang members and illegals would be better off going over seas and putting their life on the line for our country. Of course you would have to pass a simple test, and if you can’t then go home.
In closing, I just want to say to all you young people that like to text and drive, or hang on your cell phone.
I wish you an early Merry Christmas, because odds are you won’t make it until then. Albert Einstein said, “I fear the day when technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots”.
America Bless God

from a fellow gray hair, excellent observation!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.

This sounds ominously close to a mass e-mail that you may not have given proper credit to. I hope not because, for many, that trumps any truth that may be contained therein.
I used to wonder why it is that so many cultures resorted to violence whenever they encountered something they didn't like. They car bomb, they self-immolate, they mass demonstrate and then end up killing their own people, etc.
Ours always seemed to be above the fray in that respect. That is, until I began reading reports of shoppers on Black Friday. Now I'm not so sure. Does it seem like it's been getting worse in the last few years?
I do believe that a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas are still possible. Especially when you have Someone to give thanks to. Same to you, LLR.
