I’m encouraging residents of District 10A to vote for Rep. John Ward. I’ve discussed issues with Rep. Ward both in St. Paul and Brainerd. He has always made time available and been respectful, informed and engaged. We haven’t always seen eye to eye. Honestly, that’s the way it should be, because his job is to serve all his constituents. But whether we’ve agreed or disagreed, we know where John Ward stands and why. He is one of us; he lives here, volunteers here, raised his family here, works here.
We’ve heard that a considerable amount of outside money has targeted Rep. Ward’s seat. What a cynical campaign tactic! It assumes we are foolish enough to allow outside interests to buy our election. Before casting your vote, please go to the State of MN’s legislative website. Review Ward’s votes and issues (his public record.) You will see practical positions regarding job growth and the economy, education, health care, property tax reform, conservation, a pro-Life position, energy policies, veterans services, seniors, 2nd Amendment rights and transportation.
Or stop by www.voteforward.net. Rep. Ward’s endorsements provide evidence that he is not a partisan lawmaker. His endorsements include the MCCL, the NRA, Elementary Principals, MN Small Businesses, Conservation MN, the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, the Minnesota Nurses Association, Care Providers of Minnesota, Hospitality Minnesota, and the American Council of Engineering Companies, to name just a few.
Common sense says a representative who has the endorsement of groups from across the political spectrum is someone working hard to serve his entire constituency. We need Rep. Ward’s leadership and expertise in St. Paul. He has a proven record of good legislation for our area. On Nov. 6th, I urge all voters to vote for Rep. John Ward.

Comman sense tells me not to vote for someone who
helped put through a levy so school boards can just levy
us without a vote for retiree public teachers pensions.
Conflict of interest.
Maybe it wasn't called a
Maybe it wasn't called a levy, but they did add to property taxes to cover retired teacher pension without a vote.
I think someone wrote in about it yesterday.
The vote was on the school board and they voted yea.
No one questions it because it is true.
the pensions were part of a contract that was
negotiated with teachers before they retired. It wasn't some new benefit slid in under the radar. It's called honoring the contract that was agreed to by both sides, and figuring out how to pay for the benefits that were in that contract. Ward had no part in the original contract negotiations, and the school board asked for relief in figuring out how to pay for the retirement contractual obligation. The funding mechanism was one that is both legal and used across the state. Probably wouldn't have been an issue of the GOP had agreed to fund schools adequately - they cut to the bone still ran short of funds. The funding shift -- delaying payment to schools -- wreaked havoc with school funding across the state. You don't settle a contract and then reneg on those terms. All of this was reported in the Dispatch. (my source for this comment).
wwacihn is right
"Ward had no part in the original contract negotiations"
But he sure had a vested interest, as a retired teacher, in making sure his nest was feathered. No conflict of interest there, right?
Yes it is kind of strange
Yes it is kind of strange that outside billionaires are pouring tons of cash into MN elections. Meanwhile the GOP keeps us distracted with the diversionary voter ID amendment.
It makes me wonder what kind of tax breaks the working class will have to fund for them or what kind of clean water regulations they will want to roll back once they get "their guy" in office.
Ward
is not a trustworthy guy. Plain and simple. I won't vote for someone who actively misleads voters.
So, Terry..You would have no issues on these misleading folks...

As a Christian, who looks at Jesus as a Guide to my daily life, I'm not buying the advice of numbers 1 through 6...
Ward and most other liberals are dishonest
They have to be to stay in power. Ward and other liberals can't really tell us who they are and what they are going to do because most people wouldn't vote, for them as they do not represent our values.
I heard Ward tell us that you cannot but bloated inefficient government because it would cause people to be unemployed and we need as many jobs as we can get. Unbelievable! Ward is in way over his head and just does what the DFL tells him to do.
I will not be voting for Ward. Vote Yes, Yes and "no" for Ward.
It's sad, really.
We have an intelligent discussion going here about the school board, referendums, and our elected representative. It's all very enlightening.
Some just can't seem to deal with it, choosing instead to run from the issues.

What did Jesus mean when he said "Give to Caesar what is Caeser's, and to God what is God's?"
What role should justice play in your life as a Christian?
Give us some biblical texts that would support your "hatred" for the dirty six. (Try not to proof-text also. A discussion of the context would be helpful.)
And try using propositional language instead of pictures. Pictures only cover up the Cub food ads.
Hatred for Dirty Six...

They do a good job of ConMoting (take away Civil Rights from Others)...In my humble opinion...
