Brainerd needs a primary
Brainerd has had some of the longest serving elected officials in the area, and one of the worst economies. This is not a coincidence.
With many candidates running, incumbents often win with far less than half of the vote. There is a question for city of Brainerd residents to have a primary in future elections.
County, state and national elections all use a primary to narrow candidates down to two for the general election. A primary will make it easier for voters to narrow down the field of challengers to the strongest one before the general election.
Incumbents will then only win if a majority of voters think they are doing a good job.
Vote yes on city question 1 to provide for a primary election.
