Politically correct

Politically correct

I can remember when being rich was not a dirty thing, when a self-made man was to be respected. When parents would tell their children that if they would apply themselves they could, also, be successful. People like Henry Ford, the Vanderbilts and Bill Gates were to be looked up to and people would tell their children that they should aspire to be like them, but this kind of success does not bode well with the kind of socialism that the Obama administration aspires to.

In a socialistic society there is no room for this disparage in wealth.

Our young and vulnerable are being fed a steady diet of liberal thinking from day one of pre-school through the last day of post-graduate studies in college. They are being taught to do the politically correct thing and vote for the politically correct candidates and you can see where that gets us.

The old and gullible, the ones who should know better, are being taught that the wealthy are somehow greedy and self-centered. If they own a business and hire people to work for them, and by doing this show a profit, that these business owners are parasites and are living off the labor of others. There is something dirty or unhealthy about a person that can accumulate that kind of wealth, that the owner must have done something illegal to get that much, they say. That they have no right to the things that they worked long and hard for, and if they would share with these same old and greedy people we could all live a long and happy life.

If you think this is an un-American way of thinking, just wait and see what it looks like if Obama gets in again.

Get out of Afghanistan

It was announced Sept. 17, by the United States, that they would no longer perform joint operations with Afghan troops. The reason is our supposed allies are killing more of our people than the enemy.

There is a proposal, right now before Congress, that drastically reduces defense spending in the future. If the war in Afghanistan is any example of the way the military spends our money then I would say cut away.

Ten years they have been at it with a well-equipped army and this rag-tag band of terrorists seems to be as strong as ever and now the very people we came to help are killing our troops. It’s time to lick our wounds, collect our weapons and come home and leave those people alone.

All of our interference in the Middle East has done nothing but turn it into a tinderbox ready to explode at any time. We got chased out of Iraq, where we

nev

er belonged in the first place, and we’re getting beat in Afghanistan.

Swallow your pride America, and do what’s right for this country for a change.

Clyde

You are spot on Clyde. What a sham and a shame that we have allowed slowly but surely the destruction of everything American. It is not American to GIVE everything to everyone. I wonder if the founding fathers that fought for and gave there blood and lives for the very exsistence of a better place would think of America today?

Wealth used to inspire some ,until you see the dark underbelly !

Back when I was a rookie Yacht Broker , I rented a very nice large Lake Minnetonka lakeshore home . Fully furnished , yard man , maid , utilities paid .
Turned out the long time home owners were more concerned about having someone staying there so they could spend a couple years at their other homes in FL and CA. than they were about collecting a bunch of rent money. Worked for me !

Before I moved in the owner walked me around their property to show me the great landscaping and where the property lines were ,boat parking, beach etc.

When I asked about their 4 neighbors and what kind of interaction I could/might expect with them , their response was interesting.

All 4 neighbor owners were currently serving time for either , tax evasion ,fraud or other white collar crimes.
Nice neighborhood !

Capt CupCake - So what? First

Capt CupCake - So what? First of all, story is anecdotal at best. Second of all, your story simply proves that the system then works. If you break the law, you go to jail. Finally, for each of your 4 so called neighbors xx years ago, I can show you 100 successful men and women that are living within the confines of the law.

Once again 'ol Capt....that's

Once again 'ol Capt....that's the best you have? I am beginning to develop a sense that your ability to engage in any semblance of a discussion is limited to; getting your news from Comedy Channel, picking up the remote control and having enough dexterity to tune to MSNBC and quickly memorizing the talking points, and being able to ask moronic questions. Yep, that about sums it up.

Unlike you, I have never been able to afford a rental on Lake Minnetonka.

Everyone gets beaten in Afghanistan...

...it's a lost cause. All the reasonable Afghanis left the country or were killed years ago. If they can't fix themselves, they deserve the carnage they mete out to one another. No more precious American lives should be lost trying to help those nutjobs, and we should cut off all aid to them immediately.

Yeah, Capt. Ron...

...sounds a lot like a 1 percenter, doesn't he? A junior YACHT broker? A rental on Lake Minnetonka? Livin' large, Captain, livin' large! And can anyone believe that both the husbands and wives of the four nearest neighbors were serving time for financial crimes? What are the odds? Probably a little better than the odds of all the anomalies surrounding Obama's identity papers happening accidentally, but still rather astronomically unlikely.

Hey Capt....since you appear

Hey Capt....since you appear to have all the money and liven large, why don't you practice what you preach and just send the government a check that equates to 75% of your earnings? 75%? That seems fair, yes?

You got most of the conservo's sputtering with just a few words.

Will they ever wise up?

Actually eyolf its SAD these Yahoos insist on having everything

Both ways or their way, or the highway.
Sort of like the Mittsters campaign philosophy.

Sort of like shooting fish in a 5 gal. pail with no slot limit ,and year around season.

Im thinking maybe we should start some kind of Super Pac to start collecting funds to buy em seats on that new Nov 7th moon shuttle , so they can go somewhere else and become " politically correct" with the Supreme Republicon Leader Newt @ the new monolithic GOP colony !
Where the misguided can celebrate ( unconscious) bias and perennial moral high ground.
