Yes to marriage
After reading a Reader Opinion on Monday, Sept. 17, I reflected on my family. My oldest sister could not marry in the Catholic church for the same reason – she was marring a Lutheran boy. But unlike the parents who had no place but the state to marry them, my sister married in the Lutheran church. They were hard pressed. because there were many churches to choose from – Methodist to Pentecostal, and the justice of the peace was only one option.
No one is denying any homosexual the right to live together or love, or be on the same insurance policies/house loan. I know I can add anyone to my policies just might have to pay more – heck you could even be on my visitor list if I wanted it.
The marriage amendment is very similar to the prayer amendment for schools – everyone knows prayer is allowed in school – but only if you hear the gunshots first.
Prayer is asking for God’s help like he ordained it. Remember how he ordained marriage with Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. It would have been a short genology with Adam and Steve – unless you can convince me God changed his mind, rewrote the book and became progressive.
I will be voting yes to marriage and no to John in November.
