Romans 5:8: “But God commandeth his love toward us, in that, while we were sinners, Christ died for us.” Who else has that kind of love? Awesome!
A man told a friend that he found the perfect church. His friend asked, “You didn’t join, did you?” “Yes,” he answered, surprised by the question. “It’s not perfect anymore then!” his friend said.
Jesus saves completely, you didn’t have to get better to be saved. It’s like cleaning up before taking a bath. The bath totally cleans, Jesus totally saves. Try him and find out, close up and personal. Amen!
Just a question to the writer of the Aug. 10 letter about Obama/Roberts care. I must say first, it’s an oxymoron, U.S. government and saving money. The only way the government will save money on this “care” is to, and they will, deny certain people certain treatments and medical care. My question is, of the 34 countries with nation health care, how many, if any, have a clause in theirs of buy it or be fined and/or jailed?
Biden was right about “chains,” only it’ll be him and Obama putting them on us in 2014. They’ve already handcuffed and muzzled religion about their “care.” I wonder if Muslim organizations got a pass on contraception providing? Who knows, the bill has thousands of pages!
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses but we will trust in the name of the Lord. Psalms 20:7. You do the same. God bless and help us! Amen.

This Godless Country is broke already. 4 yrs of trillion dollar deficits.. Thanks, hope and change. Face the fact that O'Bama's attempts to change us into Greece have cost us all dearly. Pray that we're not beyond repair.
GOP Fear Mongering ,Voter Suppression and Intimidation Tactics
Definitely get out and Vote in Nov. ( while you still can), not certain praying will help much . Unless that is , you pray that actual Economists are listened to instead of so many false claims that do nothing but promote divisive behavior.
The focus of Republicon lawmakers in St Paul and Wash. DC continues to be ; Abortion , Wiping out the Voters rights act ,and like the GOP said day one " Making certain Obama is a one term President " These attitudes are NOT progress . They take us backwards ,certainly NOT forward.
Dont believe misleading ads , follow the money , thanks to the Supreme Court Citizens United decision.
Its likely our President in his second term will appoint three new Supreme Court members.
Watch carefully as our Congressional Reps. ( Think the Chipster) once again bring the country to the brink of default , because they are unwilling/able to compromise anything that involves the best interests of citizens , they seem to only value the donors of Super Pacs , and special interest groups.
Captron...
...Obama has been hiding in his bunker regarding the economy for weeks now. Given he's been on a beeline for the fiscal cliff for the past nearly four years with no signs of a plan to change paths, I scarcely think he's the one to lead the charge to a better tomorrow. He knows nothing about the economy OR business. Ryan, OTOH, there's a guy who actually knows something about the economy, being a trained economist and all, and Romney knows something about business.
There are some conservatives that would like to watch Obama take his plans to their logical conclusion (i.e., a Greek-style meltdown) so it's clear beyond any argument that everything he's done was wrong. Personally, I don't hate my country or fellow countrymen that much.
You Would Expect a Vulture Capitalist Born with a Silver Spoon
To know something about business , especially the business of off shore bank accounts , and avoiding the payment of income tax since he is such a Patriot.
Not everything can be fixed " Retroactively "
The LDS church leaders have been preparing the rest of us (others) with years of TV ads to not even question a Mormon in the White House.
After spending a lot of time in SLC over the last 30 years , there are 2 distinct groups in Utah , that dont work well together. Members of the LDS church and others....Dont think nuns are even allowed in Salt Lake County .
Think, Vote and Pray for our country
Congratulations. You now have your death panels. They are powered by greed. This was never intended to be a country reserved only for those who can afford it. Twenty thousand plus americans a year die because they don't have health insurance. Shame on them and their families. They must have been praying to the wrong god.
Well captron, I see you are Anti-Mormon, are you Anti-Semitic
as well or do you hate all religions equally?
I know for a fact ,LDS Church Members are Fine People
I also have seen them drive people, who wont join their church , out of " their " Community ( in Utah). They like to stick together, sort of like good ole boys . ( think confederate flag) PD Nut in afraid your fear mongering and shoot first hate comments have no place here in the Dispatch.
Head to SLC , visit the LDS visitors center on Temple Square, you might learn something.... its educational
If you understood the history & culture in SLC , then you too would laugh at the Claim the Mittster saved the 2002 Winter Games.
The fact of the matter was a rather wealthy Swiss
gentleman, or any non church member , could NOT come to terms with the LDS church on an agreement with the brewing company sponsors to set up huge beer tents in 4 locations in SLC.
Since the Mittster just happens to Have a 12 bedroom ,10 bath log home @ Park City UT (he calls it a cabin) were the family enjoys winter sports , the Vulture capitalist had an inside track to bring the sponsors & the church together, right on the mountain. Saving the games ....NO
Funny how the left is quick
Funny how the left is quick to tell us how trickle down economics doesnt work, while they watch Greece crumble. Let me guess Obama knows how to make the Greece model work.
That's not how the so-called Trickle-Down theory works...
...Scary. First, the government doesn't GIVE the rich money, the rich simply get to keep more of the money they've earned. There's a big difference between giving and not taking, but it's a distinction that people with statists tendencies always seem to miss. Second, the first thing the rich do with the money they get to keep is spend it or invest it, both of which create DEMAND. In the first case (spending), you are dealing with direct demand, in the second case (investing) direct and indirect demand, because one of the investments they will make is hiring more people, who will then have money to satisfy their unmet demands.
No wonder you are so freaked out by people keeping their own money. You apparently think the rich just keep their money in a box and run their fingers through it like Scrooge McDuck.
President Kennedy was one of the last Democrats to understand "a rising tide lifts all boats". Rather sad that he didn't live to see the tax cuts he supported go into effect.
Here is my voodoo economic lesson
Two ways to balance a budget. (Home, Business or Government)
1. Increase revenue
2. Decrease spending
That's it, everything else falls within those two parameters. It can be one or the other or both but it has to be those two items.
You totally missed the point again Scaryphailin!!
It has nothing to do with individual items, I gave the only two items that will fix the budget. If you want to fix the bridge then one of two things have to happen, either increase revenue to fix the bridge or decrease spending in another area to shift those funds to fix the bridge. In my household if the roof needs repair I don't go out and buy a new car, I fix the roof first and get by with the car I have until I have the money to get the new car.
"You apparently think the
"You apparently think the rich just keep their money in a box and run their fingers through it like Scrooge McDuck."
But they do. That's why the rich/poor gap in this country has been ever widening. The top 10% of our population now holds more wealth than the bottom 90% of the population combined.
And WHY would wealthy people invest more of "their money they get to keep" in hiring more workers when the products those other people will make will just sit in the warehouse and not generate revenue? That's investment without return and a businessman would be stupid to make an investment like that. If wealthy people hire employees out of altruistic benevolence, then why did they lay them off in the first place? Why didn't they just keep everyone on the payroll? Oh...right...because there was no DEMAND for the product.
And I agree lifelong. To
And I agree lifelong. To balance the budget that is what it will take. And it will take both increasing revenue and decreasing spending to do it. We first have to get to the point where what we take in covers what goes out. Then we must shift even further to the point that what we take in exceeds what goes out and the difference between the two is divided 2 ways. First, pay down the debt. Second, put away for an emergency.
But right now our country still spends more than it makes and it takes a 2 part approach to stop the bleeding.
Balancing the budget is a separate issue from economic growth though. Our growth is stagnant and we need to do something to get it moving again. We need to get money into the hands of the middle and lower classes so they can spend it (money turns faster in lower/middle class households because they tend to live paycheck to paycheck). This will create demand for products and services. When demand goes up, more employees will be needed and so more people will be hired. More people have money to spend and this creates more demand....etc. But when the wealth gets concentrated at the top, the money sits and the economy stagnates. We need to get it moving again. When the economy shows growth, tax revenues will automatically increase and help the debt problem as well.
The government doesn't "give"
The government doesn't "give" rich people money.
Instead it channels money to the wealthy through tax breaks that favor the wealthy above the working class American. It's been going on for 40 years and now we are right back where we were during the Great Depression. A small number of super wealthy and the great majority with shrinking incomes.
It's a republican utopia. Or as was commonly known the days of the robber baron.
The tell us America is broke. That's a lie. The money hoarders are sitting on mountains of cash just waiting for wages to drop and people to become desperate enough to roll back worker rights, worker safety, and environmental protections. They came wrapped in the flag and speaking about FREEDOM as they slowly tightened the leash around our neck.
Thank you republicans you are True Patriots!
Flat tax is the way
You write as though there are no rich democrats. It's not
a republican utopia, it's a Kennedy, Kerry, Corzine etc. and
rich republicans also. America is broke. You see the money
we and they earn is ours it's not the federal governments.
As you well know, 50% of people don't pay any federal taxes and the next percentage up to the hated 1% often find ways
to avoid taxes. Collecting unemployment checks while
working and paying cash, bartering services to avoid taxes.
I'm not equating rich with not rich - I'm just sayin.
How about a flat tax? no deductions. Be bettter than
constant complaining about those rich folks that people
seem to forget are also democrat.
The money hoarders are hoarding their own money,it
is not yours or governments.
Will you ever tire of riding in the wagons, with your mouth open, eyes shut, ears closed and your hands out?
America Broke???
-Alright fish...if America is so broke, explain how in 2008 one side elected to forego public financing and raise/out spend it's opposition with so called "all small donations." Fast forward to 2012 with the race to be king of the money/spending hill. Then ask your self if the same could be done to say...fund technology programs for our schools ! You can't blame one side without blaming the other, fish.
-Flat tax could be right around the corner...to raise the revenue needed along with scaling back expenses...everyone needs to pay their fair share.
"Explain why pawlentyfees did NEITHER!!!"
So you can't question my logic so you turn it into a political discussion? My statement wasn't about politics it was about balancing a budget. If you want Governor Pawlenty answer that I would suggest you direct it at him!!
Change how Congress does the budget
Increase revenue
Decrease spending
We know how politicians work, they take the increase in
revenue and spend it and don't decrease spending.
The decrease in spending has to come first and I mean
a real decrease not a decrease in the amount they want
increased.
They call it a decrease if they spent 2 million in 2012, asked
for 2.2 million for 2013 and get 2 million. They call that
a decrease.
Of course, the Senate hasn't done a budget in what? 3 years.
All of you, including people
I usually agree with are missing one of the most important things that needs to be done to turn this economy around.
We need to make the slothfull people that leech off all of us, through the entitlement programs, that the left endorses to get re-elected, GET TO WORK. Way too many healthy or almost healthy people refuse to work and get a free ride because they vote for the Democrats that promise other people's money away all the time.
The system is broke
That's sorta what I was trying to say in my "Do you ever tire of
riding in the wagons with your mouth open, eyes shut,
ears closed and your hands out?"
To that point, no one that pays taxes can afford free loaders
anymore, not that we ever could.
Maybe some people should look up why there have been
so many added to the ssdi roles recently.
Gah!
Scary still doesn't get it. Increasing tax rates does not necessarily increase revenues. There's a point at which higher tax rates inhibit economic activity and reduce revenue. But LLR is right, we must strike the proper balance between spending and revenue. The CBO has said that if we let the Bush tax cuts expire, the combination of that with the automatic budget cuts will result in a serious recession in 2013, and it's long past time for the President and Congress to get serious about this.
Sadly Fair n Balanced
That slothfull of people you talk about will never go to work, even if their welfare is taken away. They are just too lazy and under-educated and un-motivated. No matter what, they will find a way to get food and shelter.
More reason we need a change in the White House...
And Scary...notice that the drop in income STARTED in 2009 when the recovery supposedly STARTED. That's why Obama is going to lose. People know they're worse off than they were four years ago.
We do somewhat agree at times
itterditter. The problem is that some of them are well educated and motivated to con the rest of us out of a free ride.
If our economy fails, they will have only one way to "No matter what, they will find a way to get food and shelter."

Those people will care little that you and I disagree so much and will try to take all that we have, even up to murder to feed themselves. It would behoove some of you liberals to think about what you are helping to happen.
Good Night to you and Yours.

Reagan-Bush-Bush set the
Reagan-Bush-Bush set the national house on fire. They overspent by $12 trillion and counting. We're still paying for Afghanistan, Iraq, the tax cut, the Great Republican Recession. That's why we can't feel the love of recovery just yet. This stuff does not get corrected overnight.
We called Fireman Obama to put out the fire and save the house.
As soon as he arrived, Conservatives in Washington began stabbing the fire hoses, letting the air out of the fire truck's tires, and turning in false alarms (death panels, birth certificate, Kenya, socialist indoctrination of children, closet Muslim, Rev. Wright, legitimate rape, raging gays, etc.).
Now Conservatives are saying that we should blame the fireman, not the guys who set the fire in the first place.
Romney will just be a little gasoline on the fire if he gets elected. No big deal. As long as rape is legitimate and gays don't get married, this country will be OK. Trust him.
Is it by accident that no Bushes will be at the convention- as they were such wonderful examples to their followers? Who'dathunk?
Yeah, right Tornado baby...
...that's exactly what happened. Obama dropping billions on failed green companies was BOOOOOOSH's fault! Obama building his army of czars was BOOOOOSH's fault! His jamming Obamacare down the throats of the an unwilling electorate was BOOOOOSH's fault! Wake up, chum, Obama's going down because he's been at the helm for the last four years. Even a lot of Democrats are getting sick of his mishandling of the economy.
