What's your plan?

Posted: August 16, 2012 - 7:08pm

I suggest that voters do know the critical part that government plays in our lives and we don’t have to be reminded. What some voters want is some politician who will tell the truth about the debt and spending.

Paul Ryan had the backbone to inform people that at the current rate there is no long term solution for medicare to survive. The plan passed the House but, then went no where.

Why not? Politicians and partisan voters are too chicken to tell voters the truth.

The Ryan plan went nowhere in the Senate as the Democrat budget is? It is nothing but keep spending — no budget in three years. They have no plan to fix medicare, social security, medicaid, no plan to work on the debt.

We have been listening for 30-40 years to the same scare tactics that the Republicans are going to take away Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, education funding and all these programs are still going on . I think people can remember hearing the same scare tactics and are catching on.

Why do politicians and partisans want to give the debt to future generations?

Why do they want people 55 and under and their employers to pay into Medicare when there is no long term future? We need more then a short term fix just to get the politicians to the next election. Why not listen to the one man who in recent history has actually put forth a plan? Why not listen?

Thank You Denton.

Dialogue and discussion are healthy.
Terms of Service are decent and well thought out.
This is a community and forum of discussion.

In the Age of the Information Super Highway, only the surface has been scratched I believe.

Democracy and a re-affirmation of the First Amendment of this United States of America. Something the Founding Fathers would be proud of that is still evolving even now.

LOL! I don't think being outed on right wing radio constitutes

..."stalking", Snowda! I think there has to be some sort of, you know, physical proximity and/or an implied or real threat for an act to constitute stalking. Simply accusing someone of being a an unsavory thing like a DFL chair may be insulting, but it's not stalking.

As near as I can tell, anyone who does not want to post on these forums is free to "out" anyone on these forums without fear of legal retribution. Alas, the long arm of the combox police extends only so far. Hey! Maybe Obama could sign an executive order to throw those nasty "outers" in the gulag if he's re-elected!

Inciting hate against people leads to violence.

Everyone assumes minnesnowda is someone. What is they're wrong?

Cyberstalking and cyberharassment

are covered by Minnesota statutes. Look it up for more details.

Cyber bullying is illegal in many states.
It generally is associated with school children and social web sites.

Again, a radio program accusing a person of being a

...former DFL chair cannot, on any planet, be construed as stalking, harrassment, or bullying. If you think it can, Snowda, by all means, consult with a lawyer. And when the lawyer is done laughing long enough to tell you the merits of your case, and keep in mind, you'll have to be able to prove the accusations are a lie, please let us know what he/she says, because I'd love to hear a professional opinion, and not what you wish was true (i.e., that you should be able to control everyone else's free speech).

I find it richly ironic that people who accuse people of being bigots for believing that traditional marriage is an important good for society (and this sort of hate speech, BTW, has resulted in property damage to Chick-fil-A, signs supporting the marriage amendment, AND a shooting at the FRC by someone who shares YOUR politics) are so sensitive about being called things like "former DFL chair", which really shouldn't evoke hatred (or should it?).

[filtered word] u me

No, not everyone [filtered word] u m es minnesnowda is someone.
For all I know, minne could be mickey. Just sayin, I don't
know and I don't care who snowda is. What I do see is
that snowda seems to know a lot about everything and
everybody.

The Southern Poverty group made a big deal of saying the
Family Research Council was a hate group. I guess because
they have a religious backbone and are for tradional marriage
and are pro-life. That makes you a hate group. Now this
idiot comes along with his chick-fil-A sandwiches and wants
to kill them all. The guard (didn't have a gun) could have
grabbed the guy and shot him, but he didn't . Some
hate group he worked for.
