Out in the Seattle area the wind-farms of hundreds of windmills are shut down. Seems they’re producing too much energy for the grid to absorb. Wind powered electricity cannot be stored — it must go directly into the grid.
When they’re shut down the land owners on whose land these windmills are placed do not receive their “rent” for use of the land on which the turbines/windmills are located.
But, alas, the Obama Administration will reimburse these landowners for their loss of “rent”. They then pass on this cost to the utility which did not receive the electricity.
End result?? Homeowners/businesses in the area — they get to pay for electricity they never got to receive.
More change we can do without.

It's Congress which passed the 2.2 cents/kwh PTC for wind and which passes the extensions. The PTC is due to expire at the end of this year, and the wind lobby is pushing hard for another extension. It's true that more Democrats than Republicans have been supporting the PTC which should be allowed to die a well merited death.

Look around. If it's 60 degrees in mid-March this year what's in our future?
We need carbon fuel to be priced at it's true amount instead of piling it on the next generation.
Windmills and global warming
Today's temp is weather, not climate. But the threat of global warming is real. Unfortunately, all the 150 ton concrete, steel, and fiberglass wind turbines you can plant won't do anything for the climate. Wind and solar together have not replaced a single fossil fuel power plant anywhere on earth.

That's why we need to make a serious effort at conservation and this time don't stop. Price energy for ALL it's costs.
