Scorning the Constitution

OPEN FORUM

Posted: February 2, 2012 - 6:21pm

Do you understand or even care what is going on in this nation? Talk about rampant government abuse. Take over of health care, car manufacturing, banks and enough new strangling regulations to sink a battle ship. Continued spending with our debt almost $16 trillion dollars and climbing, yet Obama wants more. Where will the money come from? He rejected the Keystone pipeline because of environmentalist lobbyists. So much for shovel ready jobs unless they are government jobs. Think of all the natural gas pipelines in this area then check out the national map of hundreds or more pipelines criss-crossing the country.

In California, environmentalists shut off water to decades old family owned orchards destroying their businesses all because of a tiny fish. Good thing we still don’t have dinosaurs around yet! To add insult to injury, we have a president who not only proclaimed to the world Americans are arrogant, lazy, etc., but we are no longer a Christian nation. By whose authority and standards? Obama’s?

As far as I am concerned, Obama is obsessed with his belief in progressive ideology which is just a heart beat from Marxism. The end results: social unrest stirred by fear, hate, racism and class warfare. This is the definition of progressive and Marxist governments. A type of ideology which has turned people under such leadership into government controlled slaves. Is this what you want for our country? We must continue to fight not only as individuals but keep our military strong in order to save our God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If you wish to sneer, that’s your prerogative but freedom is something you won’t miss until you don’t have it anymore. Scorn our Constitution and you scorn we the American people.

Last time I checked we had the most powerful military in the world.

We spend six times more annually than China which is in 2nd place.

What will satisfy you? If we spend a hundred times that of other nations? A thousand times that of other nations?

We spend more than the next 17 nations combined!!

Enough is enough! I guess those who believe like you figure we have unlimited funds for military. Well, it has to come from somewhere.

Where have all the facts gone?

President Obama never proclaimed "we are no longer a Christian nation." What he said was "we are not JUST a Christian nation..." If you saw this historic speech in realtime, you would know that. If you saw the shameful editing job when it first debuted 3 years ago, then you saw it on FOX News only. All the other stations, even PBS, debunked that shameful edit and if you'd like to see the original speech for yourself, visit cspan.org. cspan.org is a great reference for anyone wanting to know exactly what is being said during speeches, who is voting how in both the House and Sentate, etc. It is an excellent way to keep yourself educated, without the filter of the Media.

Also, the Constitution was written by people wanting to make clear that Religion was not the basis of our Republic. (1st Amendment) Google "Treaty of Tripoli" for a good perspective of how serious they were. I'll also add the text of relavent words: January3, 1797, "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

It was only later in the 1950's, when people were in fear over a big fake "commie agenda" did we get a good glimpse into how never to underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. Cspan.org McCarthy era. see: Pledge of Allegiance, see: Dollar (Google, Republican fear tactics or just see history repeat itself if we believe lies)

Yes, I know facts are so cumbersome and annoying, but if you're going to smear the POTUS, smear him with facts. There are quite a few out there. There aren't any in your letter. (sorry) So when you say you're concerned about the POTUS being "obsessed with..progressive ...marxism." Which one is it? You can't be progressive AND be a marxist. It's not possible.

The facts are this. You KNOW he's not a Socialist. You KNOW he's not a Nazi. You KNOW he's not a Muslim. You KNOW he's a US Citizen. (seriously, take all the Kenya nonsense off the table and you're still left with the fact his mother was a US Citizen which makes him one. eg: John McCain, born in Panama, Brad and Angelina had their kids in Paris - still US Citizens. ) You KNOW there are no death panels (and that healthcare is what a real Christian should be FOR not against.) You KNOW the economy crashed under Bush. (he handed out the first stimulus, also remember when McCain suspended his campaign against Senator Obama and ran back to D.C. to "save the country." Yeah...the whole thing was imploding and people were scrambling, long before President Obama was elected.) You KNOW the government isn't any bigger then it was under Bush. (but you should still be afraid, because those pesky Conservative judges on the Supreme Court, SOLD US ALL OUT and gave Corporations the same status as People. See "Citizens United" Supreme Court Ruling. FYI, Corporations lobby and buy your Govt. Do you have a couple of million dollars laying around to be sure your voice is heard? Here's another perspective about the Citizens United Ruling that might make it easier to see how ridiculous it is. "I'll believe Corporations are people as soon as Texas executes one." ) You KNOW the POTUS hasn't raised taxes. (He didn't, he lowered them. Don't confuse a city or township raising your property taxes, as having to do with the POTUS. Here's a real tax fact to be upset with Obama about - extending the Bush tax cuts. )
You KNOW he's not going to take your Guns. (He's never mentioned that EVER - as a matter of fact, the organization that heads the Brady Bill, gave Obama an F grading for gun control when he allowed guns to be brought into State Parks. Which reminds me, didn't a man just shoot and kill a Park Ranger a while back? Maybe if the POTUS hadn't of relaxed the gun laws, that Ranger would still be home with his family.)

Great job! Maybe if we keep presenting facts we will convince people to do a little research on their own.

Cspan is a great source!

But letters like that are written by others than the writer who signed it. They have to be, because I have seen those phrases before. Ad nauseum!

KUDOS! Affirmation of the United States of America!

Separation of Church and State is not defined per exact wording in the Constitution of the United States of America.
However, it's an accepted and validated concept for over 200 plus years. Numerous Supreme Court rulings to that effect, continuing with the recent one in 2011-12, which means...

Government doesn't intrude, nor select the officers or membership of religious institutions, and that Religious institutions don't intrude nor select officers or membership of the Government. True freedom of association. The best principal of this form of government by the people, and of the people.

People has no requirement of religious affiliation.

So, this latest, in my own words, of the Catholic Bishops sending a message to their flock, is ok. And if the flock chooses to ignore the Catholic Bishops message, is again, OK!

They are still citizens of the United States of America, and each State of the Union, and still have the rights protected by that association.

No laws are to be made, introduced, obeyed by any religious organization of in the land of the United States of America.

The Catholic Bishops can talk about it, share about it, but cannot mandate it to the overall citizens of the United States of America. Let Freedom Ring. It's valid yet.

Here's what might make Catholic Bishops Cringe...

If you're age 18 or above, and not a convicted fellon, a Catholic Bishops Vote is just 1 vote, just like every one else in the United States of America.
