A reader suggested that people quit throwing their cigarette butts on the ground.

Whenever I see someone do that, I try and let them know discreetly (by calling them a pig) and when possible, I go pick up their butt and put it under their windshield wiper blade (if they are on their way into a store). The burned rubber on the blade gives them a friendly reminderthat it might be better to put it out in an ashtray (or maybe ... quit smoking).
