Open Forum: This tea has become toxic

Posted: November 16, 2011 - 8:25pm

There’s an old adage that says if you talk to God you’re OK but if you think God is talking to you, you belong in a rubber room ... unless you’re Bill Cosby. Cosby talked to God, but then admitted he didn’t get an answer.
Bachmann, Perry and Cain each said: “God told me to run.” They certainly confirmed the adage. They could learn from Cosby. Since they are members of the holy right they should ‘fess up and cleanse their souls of the lie that God talked to them.
These three are irrational. Bachmann promised $2 per gallon gas. However, her first move is to build a double row fence in Texas 1,969 miles long. Cain upped her bid. He would cap the fence with electrified barbed wire. Although he didn’t say how much 1,969 miles of transformers would cost.
Now we come to Perry, the serial windsock who doesn’t believe in science. Perry should be compared to the literary figure he most resembles, the manic Elmer Gantry.
This daffy group, along with all the white wig and tea bag wearing screwballs have steeped their tea too long. The consensus is they have peaked and are fading. They will eventually go the way of their predecessors of the 1980s. The Posse Comitatus, The Order, The Covenant Sword and Arm of the Lord (CSA) and the Duck Club.
These groups died off in the 1980s. They all had the same destructive goals. No taxes and no government. They tried to ride the country of licenses, gun permits, laws, etc. They wanted total control. Their desires had no end and they couldn’t survive. The Tea Party suffers the same ailment. Their tea has become toxic. It’s time to throw it out.

They may be crazy but they

They may be crazy but they are the best the GOP has to offer America.

I still remember when Bush said God told him to run for president. Look how that turned out. We still haven't recovered and over a hundred thousand people have died.

over a hundred thousand people have died?

Fish, I think you must be drinking from the same cup as the fool Krueger. Interesting article that is full of hate, but I bet he clings to the OWS movement as sanity. But one question, if the GOP is the "Holy Right", then that would make the DFL the "Unholy Left". Yep, I can see that, between their anti-semitic views and devil worshipping ideology, we can only pray for their lost souls!

Obama and the Seven Dwarfs

Second rate president candidates are not new for either party, but the current Republican lineup from the green tea party has hit a record low. That's not eco friendly green, but "what is Libya(Cain) or the Dept of Energy(Perry)" green.
I predict that the GOP will reach for bench and produce somebody like Jeb Bush in the new year.

Tea please...

Just to clarify. In the liberal world the Tea Party is bad. People who believe in individual liberty, less government intrusion into personal lives, more individual responsibility, secure borders, the ability to keep more of what you work for and not give it away to people who didnt do anything to earn it..things like that. They are the "bad" people. Occupy Wall Street, where rampant drug use is the rage, sexual assault is the norm, camping in squalor is SOP, yelling obscenties at cops and sanitation workers in NYC while wearing cloths with vulgar sayings is cool, following and taunting kids on the way to school in NYC is accepted, where in Oakland they held a moment of silence honoring the nut who took a shot at the White House, in Atlanta they were planning to levitate a high-rise bank building until the mayor evicted them from the park they were ruining. The people who believe making a profit is evil, student loans should be forgiven, the stock market shouldnt exist..etc. These are the "good" people. BTW..all the examples I posted about Occupy is proven fact, published in mainstream media

Ron Paul came back after her comment and said that he could get gas for a silver dime. My vote is for him!

Tork....nicely put. However,

Tork....nicely put. However, I doubt that reality will ever be embraced by the "all hail OWS" crowd and the “movements” [more like 20 minutes of fame] malicious tactics. Nevertheless, perhaps they will believe their liberal bastion of comedy, Jon Stewart as he adeptly highlights OWS hypocrisy. If for nothing else, this video is funny as all heck, and using the participants own words, highlights the duplicitous nature of these nut-jobs.

Iraq Civilian War Dead

from March 2003-October 2011. Up to 113,000. Many more labeled military. This does not include coalition's casualties. Look it up, dean.
It was a costly war. Was it worth it? Maybe we should have just aimed a drone at Saddam.

After Kuwait war, Saddam's forces killed many civilians. But that was in 1991.

How about answering the questions posed to you. I don't feel the need to look it up, I was there as were my oldest son and 3 nephews. While I don't agree with all aspects of it, I do feel it was necessary.

"there are none so blind as those who will not see"

You will learn a lot by doing the research yourself. I doubt you would take my word for it anyway, dean. You do realize you sound like a bully. I bet you like Newt.

I don't believe I am a bully nor do I live in fantasyland! While I don't see eye to eye with all his positions I am a Ron Paul supporter.

dean, Ron Paul is very anti-war

or at least it sounds like it in his debate speeches.

Interesting. Other than that he sounds like someone's nutty uncle :)

Guessing the writers tone

Most of the time it's very hard to read short sentences of the basic written word and interpret the authors tone of voice unless the author also includes 'clues'.

I read Dean1961's comments and do not think they sounded like he was bullying, or even upset.

Thank you Denton. Snowda, I am also anti-war, but sometimes it is a necessary evil. As far as Ron Paul sounding like a nutty uncle, some people only hear what they want.

Nutty Uncle is too kind

Ron Paul is much more than a "Nutty Uncle"..simply because he floated the "I" word (impeachment) after Obama took out binLaden and whats his name in Sudan, the American Imam who ran alQueda in that area. Anyone who came out against killing binLaden and whats his name (michael moore, ron paul, etc)is totally bonkers. Period. How anyone can support Paul for president is beyond me. I know he has followers, but lets be real...
