This is a video letter to Minnesota Congressman Rick Nolan, and Senators Amy Klobucher, and Al Franken.
This video letter proves that a duck hunting shotgun is more destructive and lethal than a Huldra AR-15 modern sporting rifle.

OOOOH! Fear, fear fear.....
What the....!? You know I am not actually bothered or concerned about the 2nd Amendment stuff, I don't think banning guns is going to solve the problem. It arguably will need a multi-pronged approach.
However, what I have a problem with is why does Mills and his ridiculous, unscientific demonstration get over 12 minutes of free advertising? If you have a problem write a letter to the open forum like the rest of the non-silverspoon brigade. This video really proves nothing more than a duck gun hits a piece of paper more rapidly than AR-15! I could hit the paper quicker with a paint-gun but it does not mean it's going to kill you. Would like to have seen a dead carcass strung up there and see what it does?
BTW, sticking an armed guard at the door of a school will do little perhaps? If one was to attack a school he/she would be the first person they would be looking for.
Bad move Dispatch, last time I shop a Fleet Farm, sorry.
Let's see if anyone can get this correct.
What does the acronym AR stand for?
Does it stand for Assault Rifle?
Or something else?
John Galt
Nice attempt at being funny. LOL, I not sure I have seen Liza Minelli cd's (who buys cd's now anyway) and feathered boa's at the 'men's mall', more disturbing perhaps (apart from you added nothing to the conversation) is you know where these items are in the 'men's Mall', perhaps you wear them with Stewart, I have seen him with high heels on in the Dispatch before.
At least add something informative, and then try humor, both of which you have demonstrated as been incapable of doing so far...
ArmaLite
ArmaLite which was the first to manufacture them I think?
Tiger,
You are correct, therefor you get a free cup of espresso and a puppy.
Next question, was the 2nd amendment written for just hunting?
Great video
I do not know anything about guns and what they can and can't do so, I found this video interesting. You can see the
advertising part in there but, I thought it was a balanced approach. After all, it is a big part of their business.
My husband goes there and shops so, now I will also go there more. I knew there would be a knee-jerk reaction and a "I'm not going there anymore". So predictable.
Scary looking guns
MN-Tiger..you will shop at Fleet Farm again and you know it. Everyone does. Its like the people who boycott WalMart. Sure they do, Yep.
The gun control crowd is going after guns they think are scary looking, period. They know NOTHING about guns and its evident by the comments our "leaders" in DC make every day. An AR-15 looks ominous because its the basic gun we've seen our troops carry in combat since the 1960's and Vietnam when we knew it as the M-16. Its just a semi-automatic gun. Period. These "leaders" and the lap-dog media dont know the difference between "semi" and "fully" automatic. Not a clue. Watching David Gregory hold up that clip on NBC News was embarassing..its scary looking because it is curved..ie;bananna clip. And handguns? Those scary looking Glock's? And Sig-Sauer? Even the name sounds scary...Ashley Banfield on CNN said that Sig-Sauer sounded scary..Anyone knows that a revolver is just as dangerous as a semi-auto 9mm Glock in the wrong hands. The anti-gun crowd is coming after the "scary" ones now. Thats just a start.
Remember in history the majority of political assinations and attempts in the US were not done by assassins using the "scary" looking ones:
Lincoln: muzzle loaded single shot Derringer
JFK: Bolt action
RFK: 22 revolver
Wallace: revolver
MLK: Deer rifle
Ford: Shot at twice with revolvers
Reagan: revolver
John Lennon: revolver
They want them all..this is just a start
I appreciate Mr Mills video
and will spend more money there because he is a strong advocate for gun owners and the gun rights initiative.
Right on, Brother Mills! Well said, well done!!
ooops mav
you stumped her that time! Or she's having someone read the Amendment that is a slow reader. (Did you teach her southie?).
Stewart - Please stick to RETAIL
I've enjoyed shopping at Fleet Farm and believe Steward knows a lot about the RETAIL world. He's straying into areas that are very opinionated -- and do not reflect well on Fleet Farm.
Once again
I have asked this question again and again... Tell me what law would have stopped the murder in conn. answer: none. Unless you're for an all out ban on guns. Quit lying about new laws because there is nothing short of a ban and that will not stop people from killing and cannot happen without a fight!
5 assailants,
One woman with a shotgun and 00 buck, 3 seconds.
5 assailants, one woman with an AR15; one assailant dies, the other 4 blow the woman away.
Stewart fails.
Seriously, stick to retail, Stewart. You guys are good at it.
Oh But,
the Lefters want to confiscate all guns. They know what law abiding citizens have already (thanks to breaking the laws on a registration data base. {Constitutional violation} not a problem for crooked politicians!)
I just want to know how they are going to confiscate the criminal's guns!!!!!!!!!! (I mean the ones that don't work for them!)
I agree that Stewart may have just given Nolan another gun to ban with this video and I wonder when Ricky staged that photo.
She shot like
you probably would eyolf, but if her first shot went in your eye it would have been enough.
Seriously
I hunt. Own several guns. In fact, I just bought a muzzleloader from Fleet Farm after Christmas.
This video seems pretty silly. The crucial question here is the capacity of each weapon and the context in which it is used. The demonstration was pretty obviously rigged.
Not that I necessarily disagree with the point being made, but this is not really an attempt to make any kind of empirical data.
Despite the ridiculous nature of this video, I probably will still shop at Fleet Farm. Just because it is a pretty dang good store. Fleet Farm video commentary? Not so much.
I thought it was
a good video. I have bought a few guns from Fleet Farm, and I am sure I will buy more, as long as I can.
Snack
I agree with you. They didn't really have a good shooter but wanted to get the women in there. This video probably will boomarang on him.
Many uninformed on the left
should watch the video. It shows what I've said ever since I first heard about an "assault rifle" ban. If you want to ban the most lethal common gun in America, you would have to ban the common shotgun. You are much more likely to survive a shot from an AR than a blast of a shotgun. Banning "assault rifles" will have no effect on gun deaths. Even now, only 2% of murders in America are committed with rifles. More people are killed with hammers and clubs in America each year than are murdered with rifles (From FBI statistics), yet this is what the left wants to spend their time on. I guess it makes them feel like they're doing something. Honestly lefties, why waste all this time and effort on something that will do SO LITTLE? Why not put your efforts into solutions that might actually work and don't take away the rights of law abiding citizens?
Well done Stewert.
Hunt,
the plan is to agree with you and Stewart. The want your shotgun too but are afraid to do it all at once. Semi-autos today and semi- auto pistols tomorrow and shotguns next week and 22s in a month........
The Lefter goal is to disarm the oposition and run roughshod over us. Like Biden said, he wants us in chains. Oil Can Harry doesn't want the unwashed stinking up the capital. Can any of you figure it out yet? Scribbles, do you really support this regime?
The main point
is that all this blathering on and on about "assault rifles" will do exactly NOTHING. 10's of millions of dollars will be spent by both sides of the arguement, and when all is said and done, it won't matter. Even if the ban passes, the murder rate will not go down and in a few years when the other side gets political control, the ban will just be lifted again. Why waste all this money and effort? I think both sides have good intentions at heart. Why not find some common ground and work at things we can all agree on instead of fighting about totally worthless gun bans?
I would love to know why....
LMAO! Ok, not that I care, but I guess I do. Why when someone asked what AR stands for and I answered the question (correctly) did I get 2 thumbs down? Duh, now I know why my wife tells me not to meddle with the cretins online.
Anyway, it seems the consensus is Mr. Stewart should stick to retail, because it really was a pretty lame video lets be honest. I think this is more to do with the worry of sales than anything. Lame.
I have not been in Fleet Farm for over 4 years, so there is nothing there I can't buy elsewhere, so no I won't HAVE to go back.
Relax people, regardless of what Rush says no one is going to take our guns away. How would they actually do it, oh dear. I shoot them first anyway.
Hunt
Your thinking is off if you believe the radical left has best intentions in mind. An unarmed citizenry is what they want. The government has the money and most of the power, they just haven't figured out how to get all the firepower. They are using this to try and get that away from us.
Twist...
How in debt is the Gov? What money do they have? Why do they want our firepower for, and what are they going to do with it if they get it? This sounds like some paranoid 1950s' anti-communist rant?
Come on you can do better than that surely?
I think it was good to show
I think it was good to show the difference between guns. Many people dont know one from the next.
Good for him for speaking up for what he believes in. The pitch was a little off BUT had nice info and good American pride.
I have always loved Fleet. I shop there more for their household goods. I love that they carry Noric Ware (MN made), great product.
You have my support Fleet.
F-n-B
I think the girls did just fine, shooting. Stewart didn't do so well as a videographer, some details were contradictory: for example his justification for either style weapon at the expense of the other was pretty weak; a shotgun and buckshot at home defense distances is very effective and a few gun authorities favor it under many circumstances.
I think you know that.
Some people are just repelled by guns and some are repelled by the rougher element of firearms fans. In the past, common marketing wisdom might have been to avoid controversy; Mills sells firearms and accessories, but as part of their business strategy, not as a political statement. Those that don't like guns don't have to go near that part of the store, but now Stewart may make some uncomfortable.
I think it was a bad move. If Mills really wanted to make a point, perhaps he could have hired a local outdoorsperson to narrate: I think viewers would connect guns, shooting sports, and fleet farm, but not Stewart Mills. But then maybe he kinda wanted his moment.
As others point out, Mills did get a nice public relations boost for the range, though. I'll have to check it out; I wonder if they have a rimfire league.
John Galt
Really is that the best you got? Doesn't matter what your definition is, Mills should have kept to what he knows, not going publicly to reel off what has been said weeks ago. What did he add apart from showing off his new range and what guns they sell (which looked nice by the way).
Right
Just like before the election when they said Obama wouldn't go after gun rights in his 2nd term? Now Biden says they will use an executive order if they have to. I never said anything about communism or socialism but it sure must be on your mind. What my comment was about is power. And if you don't think they care about having power over us then tell me why their are 10-25 term congress people out there
Mr. Tiger
The video (to me) was about telling our reps in Congress that
2nd amendment is not about hunting. He did the show and tell because of Mr. Nolan's remarks on duck hunting.
I think you should continue on this site as you may learn something about guns and the 2nd amendment.
I don't know anything about guns which is why I thought the video was "interesting". Your wife may be afraid that you may learn something.
It is always funny when someone interjects the names of Rush, Glenn Beck, or Fox News. They don't get that these commenters actually know what they are talking about more than Rush or Glenn. Have you personally heard Rush talk
about guns? Has he even been on as he has had some days off?
Homeland Security bought
1.4 billion rounds of ammunition.
420m rounds .40 hollow points
200m rounds .223 rifle ammo
rounds of 308
plus more
Mr. Tiger please tell us why they are buying all this ammo?
I may be off of some of the numbers but, someone please
explain why our taxes are paying for all this ammo ?
Why does Homeland Security need so many rounds of ammo?
