If gun grabbers get their way there will be a second revolution

Posted: February 22, 2013 - 7:15pm

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke appeared on anti-gun, anti-second amendment Piers Morgan’s CNN show and warned that gun grabbers could trigger a second American revolution, “the likes of which would make the first revolution pale by comparison.”

Sheriff Clarke urges Milwaukee County residents that he serves to consider learning firearm safety because there will be “a duty to protect yourself and your family.”

In a message posted on the sheriff’s website, Clarke wrote, “I need you in the game, but are you ready? With officers laid off and furloughed, simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option. You can beg for mercy from a violent criminal, hide under the bed, or you can fight back; but are you prepared?”

He noted Chicago’s police chief had called the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution “a danger to public safety.”

Sheriff Clarke said, “This is about attacking the Second Amendment, it’s about going after the wrong crowd.

“This has nothing to do with violence reduction because the type of violence that we’re talking about, that I see on the streets in the Milwaukee area on a daily basis, is not even committed using the weapons that the left is trying to ban.” Clarke said in an interview with Steve Watson of infowars.com.

“They are not using assault rifles, they are not using high capacity magazines, they are not buying their ammo over the Internet. The criminals couldn’t care less about a background check, so that tells me that this is ingenuous.” he added.

When Clarke was asked why the Obama administration was pushing hard to introduce strict gun regulations he responded by pointing toward the general push for increased governmental control over society.

“Government control cannot go on as long as people have some sort of ability to say ‘hey wait just a doggone minute’,” Clarke said. “That’s what the government fears, they don’t really fear the criminals, they support the criminals. What they fear is a law abiding person,” he added.

What’s Sheriff Clarke’s remedy for the push toward more government control? “Read the Declaration of Independence, it’s right there where a law abiding people say ‘enough is enough, you are exerting too much influence in our lives, this is tyrannical and we’re going to stop it.’ That’s what they are worried about,” he concluded.

Thank you Sheriff Clarke.

Keith,

Nice article.
Hint:
If you look throughout our history on anti-gun legislation IE: who writes them, who sponsors them and who dictates them to us, A certain commonality emerges.

By doing this, you will get to see who is truly behind all of this.

Read on internet so it has to be true!

Dang it MaV, you took Keith's coming thunder away. I wonder if he'll write about that horrible reality for his next editorial after all now.

After all, it was on the internet. It has to be true, right?

History lesson

So soon we forget about how the Clinton administration cut the military budget and what happen after. The libs look back on the Clinton years as some of our best times but blame Bush for the gift he inherited (911) from Clinton. As we all found out, it takes more resources to combat after the fact as compared to prevention. As long as you leave the door cracked open, there will be another waiting to kick it open.

Laws... what laws?

Has anyone sat back and wondered why current gun control laws have no effect on those who are committing the crimes ? The answer is that they are criminals that pledge their life to the laws of the criminal group in which they belong.

911 was a gift?

From the Clinton admin? And here we all thought 9-1-1 was engineered by the 43rd administration to distract from their lackluster performance in destroying the nation's economy.

As it is, they barely escaped the wrath of the shadowmasters.

No FNB, Mav's link was NOT accurate

Not in the least. Pure fabrication to inflame the minds of people who want to believe in conspiracy theories, no matter how wild and outrageous they are. And as often is the case, there's some real irony in the truth!

Sentencing/Prison Time

Start throwing hard time at criminals, impose mandatory prison minimums, make it a deterrent instead of continuing it as a JOKE. Criminals don’t care about 1,5,10 years probation or a month of county time.

Not too bad, considering I

Not too bad, considering I developed pneumonia, and spent last night in the emergency room. The last thing I need is to have a persistant cough, after having my chest split open. Thanks for your concern.

Hmmm

Clarke said. “That’s what the government fears, they don’t really fear the criminals, they support the criminals. What they fear is a law abiding person,"

Could someone please define "law abiding person" for me?

After all, gun enthusiasts commonly repeat this phrase, and I feel it's best that we all understand what it means.

What don't you understand about the term "law-abiding", Fred?

A person who owns gun per their constitutional right is law abiding with respect to their ownership of said guns as long as they don't use those guns to commit a crime. It's pretty straightforward.

fred

If you have to ask what a law abiding person is than I guess you can answer that it is a person that abides by the law.

Motley-- take care and do what the DR. recommends.
Sorta like obeying the law.

"Law abiding person"

Are you kidding me? You really don't know what law abiding is? Check out the Crow-Wing County in custody list. Those people are not law abiding. I think that everyone but you understands what law abiding means. Hard to debate folks that have no common sense.

I see

So all the right-wingers here feel that they're "law abiding"?

Have you ever blown a stop sign? Have you ever gone over the speed limit? Have you ever flicked a cigarette butt out of the car window? Missed a few items on purpose on your 1040 form? Driven after having one too many? Walked onto someone's property even though it said "no trespassing"? Been publicly intoxicated? Smoked marijuana? Stolen? Stalked? Shop lifted?

My guess is that every single person posting on this board isn't "law abiding" at some point EVERY SINGLE DAY.

So let's dispense once and for all the ridiculous "law abiding" citizen defense.
