Firearm safety

Posted: December 18, 2012 - 10:59pm

Firearms safety is on my mind Dec. 15. It has become a national issue beyond politics.

Rapid-fire weapons and their large ammo clips must be banned and removed from commerce. Federal and State officials need to receive an avalanche of citizen outrage.

The U.S.A. weaponizes the world.

So..

What part of "shall not be infringed" do you still not understand? The Supreme Court has upheld this principle and protects me from people like you.

This Will Happen

The assault weapons ban will be reinstated, the magazines will be reduced in size, the gun show loophole will be closed and other sane and reasonable measures will be enacted.

Why?

Because these measures are necessary to help bring some sanity and reasonableness. Those who oppose will just have to be dragged kicking and screaming just like they have been for many previous progressive improvements to our society.

Oh, FnB is a crank. His posts have proven that over and over again. He is consistently on the wrong side of almost every issue. Luckily for all of us his demographic is rapidly dwindling in this country.

JB, whom gets to determine

what the wrong side is? You or Muttley? Almost 1/3 of the population in the US owns at least one firearm. Considering that another 1/3 are children and 10% are illegals (that can't own firearms legally) (hahahah illegals wouldn't break the law, Right?) I don't really thing a bunch of pandering leaches can claim to be the right side.

007 , Nice to see your in the holiday spirit using polite words

Explaining slowly to the " Dodge City " mentality crew whats in their future and why regarding firearms..
Special multiple gold stars ***** for keeping the spirit alive with the concise description of one who seems to be constantly confused.
The Minn Post article is worth the read as well , had not heard of an ammunition registry before !
What a great idea .....

Dodge City?

It never ceases to amaze me how shallow minded people are when it comes to issues they don't agree with. Calling gun owners "insane" or they have a "Dodge City mentality" is like saying that every liberal is a non working, Kool aid drinking pothead. It's just not the truth.

The shootings in Newtown are obviously one of the most horrific things a lot of us will see, but focusing on just the tool used to carry out this act is idiotic. Todays world has become too much of a "your special" society that there is no fear of accountability for ones actions.

The day the "Feel Good" people started handing out participation medals instead of a 1st place medal to the winner and telling the rest they need to try harder next time was the day I knew this country was on a one way trip to the crapper.

This kid that did the shooting obviously had mental issues to make him commit such a crime. He should have been living in an institution under supervision, except his mother thought he was "special" and "normal" like all the other kids, and besides, all the state mental institutions have been closed for years.

We cannot know how the mother felt

about mental institutions or what steps she had taken to get him help or even to secure her guns.

We don'tknow what it is like to me his mother.

At this point, it sounds like what set him off was that she
was trying to get paperwork filled out to commit him.
We don't know what she tried to do when he was younger, which would be the time to start the process.

Just a beginning

In the past the anti gun lobby has proposed things like limiting the power of telescopic sights; restrict performance of ammunition; restrict amount and type of ammunition you can have; out right ban on all semi automatic firearms; registration of all firearms; etc.. What does history teach us about nations where these types of restrictions were implemented??? Has it reduced crime and made civilians safer? Have governments respected civilians rights and freedoms once they were disarmed? What is they national average response time for police when you call them?

Who needs a state hospital with trained people?

Close them all down and put them at home or in a group home where no one has a clue how to deal with a potential problem like this.

J.B.: I can come up with one former Repub. Congressman.

Joe Scarborough, R-FL (former Cong./current T.V. personality) flipped his views: He blamed the influx of mass shootings in the U.S. on a "toxic brew" of a violent popular culture, a mental-health "crisis" and a mix of "combat-style weapons" His whole 10-min. speech is here: http://www.businessinsider.com/joe-scarborough-gun-control-sandy-hook-sh...

J.B.

We have more than enough "reasonable" gun laws and too many "unreasonable" gun laws now. This killer violated quite a few and so shove your laws somewhere else. Maybe you can threaten the next nutzoid with two death sentences or something. All the left really wants is a disarmed American populace so that they can confiscate whatever they haven't stolen or taxed away from them already. Take Blubber Yumblow with you on your way out!

Definitions and Observations

A gun is a tool used for hunting, sport and necessity. A weapon is a tool to protect against agressors, foreign or domestic. Both can be one in the same. The difference is the person holding the firearm. Guns and or weapons don't load themselves, they don't take aim by themselves and they don't pull their own triggers. We need to quit blaming the makers of the firearms and stop thinking we can pass legislation to eliminate the problems.

Ronald Reagan Was A Republican Supporter Of Gun Control !

As the 1994 assault weapon ban vote neared, Reagan wrote a letter with former Presidents Ford and Carter to the House of Representatives urging them to vote in favor of the ban.

“We are writing to urge your support for a ban on the domestic manufacture of military-style assault weapons. This is a matter of vital importance to the public safety,” the letter said.

Yes, that Ronald Reagan !!!

Totally Irrelevant

How Reagan was shot and by whom is irrelevant to his support for the assault weapons ban.

Is Reagan not still the paragon of Republicanism and Conservatism, or is he now a RINO too?
