Thank you for the fine editorial about Sen. Mitch McConnell. I would think that after his campaign to make President Obama a “one term” president failed that he would recognize obstructionism doesn’t work.
Perhaps now he can serve the people of the United States by cooperating with the Democrats in solving our financial problems.
Both sides need to get serious about making the kind of decisions that will enable us to get out from under the massive debt that we have hanging over our heads.

He has already settled on a " new "goal.
"Fix Medicare ,then we can talk about tax rates & the fiscal cliff."
Guess Mitch does not understand its a little too late
( like years) since New Years Eve is right around the corner.
Next thing you know about Dec 14th Mitch will tell us " Since were all leaving DC for the Holidays , I promise you all when we come back in Jan we will Just All start over with a clean sheet of paper "
Thank goodness we all understand the concept of "retroactive" when it comes to paying taxes, and effective rates.
Not to forget , determining residency.
Ya mean, the King of Kentucky...Mitch McConnell...has a New...
Itch...No Good...

Mitch has nothing
I 'm not sure that Mitch has ever had any power. It seems
Harry has had the majority and it is he who hasn't had a budget.
Mitch can only drool and talk, no majority.
The democrats in the senate can pass what they want without dear old Mitch.
Now you are worried about the debt? wonderful, better
late than never. So the only cooperation involved is that
Repub. have to give in to the Democrats?
How is it then that the Democrats are cooperating?
