Lorraine C. Martini

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Lorraine C. Martini, 90, of Brainerd and formerly of St. Cloud, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Lorraine passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd. The Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Lorraine was born on Aug. 19, 1922, in St. Cloud to the late Joseph and Annie (Zwak) Lahr. After high school Lorraine worked for Northwest Airlines assembling parts for B-52 planes. She married Walter J. Martini on July 29, 1944, at the Cathedral of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, Fla. Lorraine lived all of her married life in St. Cloud and was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish. Since 2004 Lorraine lived with her daughter in North Carolina and Brainerd. She was a past member of the St. Cloud VFW Granite Post No. 428 Ladies Auxiliary.

Lorraine enjoyed gardening and her garden club, volunteering at St. Cloud Hospital and firing and painting ceramics.

She is survived by her daughter, Yolanda “Loni” (Tom Runkle) Martini, of Brainerd; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 1998; and siblings, Valeria Schwitalla, Nora Schwitalla, Ed Lahr and David Lahr.
