Floyd R. Austin

RAINBOW CITY, Ala. — Floyd Richard “Manny” Austin, age 79, of Rainbow City, Ala., formerly of Crosby, died at his home on Feb. 18, 2013.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1933, in Crosby to Leslie and Lois (Pritchard) Austin. Floyd was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Sheryl Ann Forcier on Sept. 28, 1977, in Brainerd.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sheryl; one daughter, Susanne (Cecil) Freeman, of Glencoe, Ala.; one brother, Robert Austin, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; three sisters, an infant, Bernice Berg and Sylvia Heglund.

Friends may call on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 2-4 p.m.

Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.
