Lyle M. Arends

ST. PAUL — Lyle M. Arends, age 93, of St. Paul, formerly of Crosslake, Minn., passed away on Feb. 6, 2013. Preceded in death by wife of 74 years, Geraldine; son, Lyle; two grandsons and two brothers. Survived by children, Sidney “Lucky,” Terry (Shirley), Yvonne Becker, Beverly (Gary) Leih and Rick (Dee); daughter-in-law, Julie; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. For over 50 years Lyle was a Mason and Shriner. He was a longtime member of Local No. 49, VFW Post No. 1350 and American Legion Post No. 39. Lyle served the Crosslake area as a council person and planning commissioner for many years. Service: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. Seventh Avenue, North St. Paul, with visitation one hour before the service. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood. Lyle’s family would like to thank Dr. James Adams and the staff of HealthEast Hospice and LakeRidge Care Center.
