ST. PAUL — Lyle M. Arends, age 93, of St. Paul, formerly of Crosslake, Minn., passed away on Feb. 6, 2013. Preceded in death by wife of 74 years, Geraldine; son, Lyle; two grandsons and two brothers. Survived by children, Sidney “Lucky,” Terry (Shirley), Yvonne Becker, Beverly (Gary) Leih and Rick (Dee); daughter-in-law, Julie; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. For over 50 years Lyle was a Mason and Shriner. He was a longtime member of Local No. 49, VFW Post No. 1350 and American Legion Post No. 39. Lyle served the Crosslake area as a council person and planning commissioner for many years. Service: Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. Seventh Avenue, North St. Paul, with visitation one hour before the service. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood.
