Billy N. Graphenteen, age 81, of Brainerd, died on Jan. 30, 2013. Billy was born on June 18, 1931, in Ruthton, Minn., to Carl and Vera (Martin) Graphenteen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean conflict.
Billy was a roofer and then he worked for John Deere for 32 years. He also worked at Freightmasters for 15 years to buy his dream home on Round Lake.
He loved his grandkids and living on the lake. His quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Billy was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and Park United Methodist Church.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Marian; children, Janet (Eric) Nelson, of Coon Rapids, Bryan, of Andover, Kevin (Christine), of Ramsey, and Pamela (Mark) Schinzel, of St. Francis; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Deloris Celander, of Litchfield, Palmer (Dorothy), of Crystal, Mary (Fritz) Levenhagen, of Blue Earth, Carl Jr. (Linda), of Blaine, Gary (Rosie), of Litchfield, and Patty Mahoney, of Las Vegas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marvin, Delmar, Myron, Myra Coye and infant brother, Earl; son-in-law, Lee Caroon.
A memorial service for Billy will be on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, from 1-3 p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Interment will take place at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
