NISSWA — Mary Jane Postels, age 95, of Nisswa, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo.
She was born on March 17, 1917, in Gilbert, Minn., the daughter of Earl and Alta Stanley Stewart.
Mary always set a good example for others. She was the perfect Martha Stewart homemaker and mom, knowing how to get things done and to take care of what needed to be. She faced many challenges in life, but never let them get her down. Her family always came first.
She was very proud not wanting to inconvenience anyone. She looked forward to the Twins season each year. Scoring the Twins’ games was a favorite pastime.
Survived by her loving children, Margery Tapper, of Crookston, Minn., a son, Robert Postels, of Big Lake, a daughter, Bonnie (Bob) Johnson, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., a daughter, Dawn (Dennis) Swanson, of Buffalo, and by a son, Tim (Carol) Postels, of Spokane, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Robert Stewart; and a sister, Doris Larson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Alta Stewart; her husband, Raymond Postels; an infant son, Michael; a son, Raymond Jr.; and by two brothers, Homer Stewart and Donald Stewart.
A memorial service for Mary Jane Postels will be held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minn.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 4 from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
