Raymond Selisker

Raymond Selisker, 84, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in North Carolina.

Born and raised in Brainerd, Ray joined the Army and was in the 82nd Airborne. While stationed at Fort Bragg, he met his future wife, Merle Tunstall, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Merle died in 2006.

Ray spent the last four years living at Glenaire, a retirement community in Cary, where he made many new friends, and enjoyed playing billiards and participating in their senior Olympics competitions.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hannah; and siblings, Frank and Evelyn.

Ray is survived by his son, Mark (Rachel), son, Phil (Liz), all of Raleigh, N.C.; grandson, Scott (Faith), Santa Barbara, Calif.; grandson, Drew, Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Phil (Bonnie), Baxter; and several nieces and nephews.
