Randy Jessen

BAXTER — Randy Jessen, age 66, of Baxter, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. He was born to Ed and Bobby Jessen on Jan. 18, 1947, in Brainerd. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1965. Randy married the love of his life, Betty Noreen on Sept. 6, 1969, in Brainerd. Together they had two children.

Randy enjoyed family and friends, having coffee and visiting, hunting, fishing, watching Jake play basketball and watching and coaching sports.

Randy was owner/operator of Jessen Trucking Service and he worked for Oak Grove Dairy & Kemps. He was an active member of Park United Methodist Church and the Baxter Lions Club.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years, Betty; children, Colleen (Kevin) Goedker, of Brainerd, Robert (Lanita Volkmuth), of Brainerd; brother, John, of Baxter; grandchildren, Jake Reynolds, Kaycee Goedker, Alex Goedker, Kassandra Skogen, Cynthia Volkmuth, Jayden Hummel, Carter VanderAvond, Julia VandenAvond.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Jessen; father-in-law, Roy Noreen; mother-in-law, Mabel Noreen.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Park United Methodist Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Baxter Cemetery.
