Ruth Ericka (Larson) Linnerooth

Posted on: January 27, 2013

Ruth Ericka (Larson) Linnerooth was born on Sept. 3, 1920, in Sandstone Minnesota. She grew up on the East Side of St. Paul, graduating from Harding High School. She married Wally Linnerooth in 1945 and they have celebrated 67 years together. They lived in Faribault Minnesota and, since 1960, in the Brainerd area.
Ruth was a wonderful, encouraging and supportive mother to their four children and loved being involved in their lives, as well as the lives of her seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. She was active in her church, First Lutheran, where she was a member for over 60 years. Ruth enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, golf, bridge, traveling and of course fishing on Perch Lake. Her faith, family and friends meant everything to her.
In her homebound years she enjoyed watching the activities on her lake through her picture windows. She also loved observing God’s creation, including the sunsets, clouds, birds and flowers. She often said, “Oh look!”
Ruth went to her heavenly Father on the morning of Jan. 25th at her home on the lake, while Wally was preparing their breakfast. Her family is grateful for the skilled and loving care that was provided by Home Instead and Good Neighbor.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Wally, her children Barb (Jerry) Werner of Woodbury, Bill of Brooklyn Park, Jerry of Baxter, Mary Kay (Dave) of Lake Shore, grandchildren Matt, Sarah (Mario), Claire, Erick, Tony, Bror, Thor, great-grandchildren Mya and Emmalyn.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Ida Larson, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Alvina (Art) Peterson and Doris (Clarence) Berg.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Brainerd.
Services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with visitation beginning the hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
