Dennis was born on July 24, 1950, in Oxnard, Calif. He is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Lamberson-Cook.
He will forever be missed by his mother, Marion (Clay) Stone; father, Leo and Gloria Lamberson; partner, David Wilson; his dogs, Samson, Sadie and Chloe; and cat, Betty.
Dennis was a director, designer and published playwright. He has designed and/or directed over 400 productions for regional and educational theatres throughout the U.S. He has been on the faculty at CLC since 1987, where he taught costume design, creative drama, children’s theatre and theatre for a diverse population. For his work with the Theatre for A Diverse Population program he received the 2002 VSA Minnesota Jaehny Award for promoting the creative power of populations with disabilities and the 2005 International Leadership Award from the Chair Academy. He is a 2006 member of the Oxford Round Table, Oxford, England.
A Celebration of Life for Dennis Lamberson will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Chalberg Theatre, Central Lakes College. The curtain will rise at 4:30 p.m. House opens 4 p.m. Please wear bright colors in celebration.
Immediately following, a potluck will be held in the college cafeteria and the theme will be Hot Dish Holiday. Hot dishes, jello and bars are welcome. Everyone is welcome to join us for food and reflection.
