DEERWOOD — Ruth Ann Hamilton, age 81, of Deerwood, died at her home on Dec. 13, 2013. She was born on April 28, 1931, in Crosby to Clifton and Naomi (Dike) Thompson. She married Earl M. Hamilton on Aug. 16, 1950, in Crosby. Ruth was a retired cook and media aid employee at the Crosby-Ironton Elementary School with 20-plus years of service.
Survivors include five daughters, Debra Hamilton, of Ironton, Susan Gerard, of Maple Grove, Patti Valentino, of Navarre, Fla., Cheryl (Tim) Copperstone, of Tucson, Ariz., and Lisa Hamilton, of Crosby; one brother, Bob Thompson, of Garrison; special niece, Cathy Thompson, of Garrison; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Earl in 1975; one brother, Buck Thompson; two sisters, Cleo Peterson, Carol Nickaboine; two grandchildren, Megan and Devon Marthaler.
A memorial gathering will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Deerstand in Deerwood. The family prefers memorials to Advocates Against Domestic Abuse or a non-profit organization of your choice, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
