Daniel ‘Danny’ Lorentz

Posted on: November 15, 2012

The Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel “Danny” Lorentz will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena with Father Timothy Wenzel as celebrant.

Daniel Raymond Lorentz was born in Bertha on July 28, 1951, to Michael and Elizabeth (Carkhuff) Lorentz and graduated from Eagle Bend High School in 1969.

Danny, as most friends referred to him as, enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, giving back to others, playing practical jokes on others, hunting elk and fishing for anything he could catch. He enjoyed giving his time to help others and was involved in many local service organizations including multiple Lions Clubs, starting the youth Leo’s Club, was a Knights of Columbus Grand Knight and also was a long-time member of the Wadena Elks Club. One of his most important and treasured activities was spending quality time with his loving, devoted and beautiful wife of 41 years, Patricia Jane (Neuerburg) Lorentz.

With his loving family nearby, Danny peacefully lost his long and hard battle with cancer in his home at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. Welcoming him into heaven was his parents, his brother Louis, an unborn son and his granddaughter, Jane Fiemeyer, along with many friends and family who arrived before him. With an unlimited amount of playtime in heaven, he will likely sneak in a lot of fishing with many angels young and old alike.

Danny is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Pat (Neuerburg) Lorentz, of Wadena, along with his children, Jil Fiemeyer, Darin “Diggy” (Carla) Lorentz, Missy Lorentz, Julie (John) Cook and Lee “Ivan” Lorentz; grandchildren, KatieRae and Anna Fiemeyer, Kaylee Ova and Drew, Arynn and Danielle “Dani” Lorentz, and Ryan Cook; siblings, George Lorentz, Joe (Sue) Lorentz, Michelle (Charlie) Deblieck, Pat Kirikiti, Becky (John) Walker, Brad Lorentz and Gabe Lorentz. He also leaves behind a “boat load” of family and friends who laughed beside him often.

Burial will be in Wadena Cemetery.

Arrangements were with the Schuller Family Funeral Home in Wadena.
