Vernon ‘Bud’ Schlong

PARK RAPIDS — Vernon “Bud” George Schlong, 87, of Park Rapids, Minn., died Oct. 31, 2012, in Park Rapids, Minn.

Memorial services were Monday at Hubbard United Methodist Church in Hubbard, Minn.

Throughout his career, he loved taking care of his Sherwin Williams paint customers in New Ulm, Minn., and Brainerd, Minn.

He is survived by his two children, Dean Schlong and wife, Damaris, of Amarillo, Texas, and Jill Warner and husband, Doug, of Palmer, Alaska; four grandchildren, Roberta Caenepeel and husband, Bryan, of Anchorage, Alaska, Jeff Warner and wife Nylene of Palmer, Alaska, Andrew Warner, of San Clemente, Calif., and Emily Hed, of Mankato, Minn.
